Nassau County Smashers a mini tournament is being hosted in Uniondale.
The time for applying is now to August 15.
MLG rules are applied, prize money for first, second, and third place finish.
Room for about fifty people.

$10 per person in singles
$5 per person in doubles (10perteam)
$2 per person in crew matches
prize money is 3/4 of all entry fees
prize money distribution is as follows
3rd-entry money returned
2nd-20% of all fees
Ist-60% of all fees
the tournament day is August 23th

as soon a August 17 all who applied will recieve a Smashboard message and a e-mail of conformation of sign up
This is whats gonna happen:
- double elimination on 1v 1
- team battles single elim (friendly fire on)
- crew battles
Each Match is 2 out of 3 matches except Finals and Semi-Finals being 3 out of 5
4 stock, 8 minute limit, Items Off
Ties broken by stock and % of damage at the end of the match. If both damage and stock are tied then the match will go to Sudden DEATH!!! Which means instead
starting at 300%, both players will restart the SD and start the match on a random stage.
- First stage is random between normal stages
- loser from first/second round has choice of:
-random stage
-chosen counter pick stage
-chosen normal stage
Normal Stages: Final Destination, BattleField, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland, Pokemon Stadium, Fountain of Dreams
counter pick stages : Peaches castle, Brinstar, Fountain of dreams, Corneria, Mute City, and Green greens
Other Rules
Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc), except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are banned. If you are caught using
a banned controller you will be disqualified from the tournament.
Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you are suspected of using the banned
features you will not be allowed to use that controller any longer.
Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them (Mewtwo's Soul Stunner, the Ice Climber freeze glitch), or any glitch or
trick that freezes the match or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the immediate forfeit of the match.
Tactics such as Peach's Wallbombing and Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or to manuever around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to
excessively stall a match, such as droping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath, is banned. Judges can be called in at any time to enforce this rule during a match .
Players on both sides are allowed to knock out 1 stage out of the whole set whether its on the random select or counter picks stage list.
