I'm gonna get there in time for PM doubles so I'll be there all day basically. I'm gonna bring a full setup (TV, n64, cart)

VGBC is based in MD so maybe they will come stream the event, which means top-notch production quality. If not I don't think we'll be recording unless someone comes through with a recording setup.

VGBC loves 64 since Zenith right? Do they know that 64 is there? That'd be funny if they refuse to come to stream brawl, but they come just for 64.

The only big reason I can see VGBC not coming is that GIMR is driving across the country currently from evo (in Vegas) back to MD. No idea when he's returning, and he might be too tired to stream.

edit: GIMR isn't streaming this unfortunately

damn no stream :(

Tell Gimr I watched a 2 hour video on his youtube channel last night, so he should come stream!

A$ is bringing a tv, but since me him and Star King are all going in one car I think that'll be the only tv we bring unfortunately. Are we in dire need of tv's? I'll bring my console stuff

GIMR might come actually.
Also, consoles are way more important than TVs. We're the last event so we can just take TVs from PM and Brawl to get our tournament done. I'd still bring your TV though.

I never understand how consoles are in such short supply lol. Its the easiest thing to bring and everyone has one. I'm bringing 1, A$ is bringing 1, I told Justin to bring one as well.

i've never owned an n64. i only have two controllers. in an ideal world i'd find it cheap at a garage sale/flea market or one of my friends would give their entire childhood away. which i don't see happening. we aren't our parents yet.

If you take a picture of SK's face and post it to smashboards, I'll give you $10 (which is to say, he'll owe you ten of the $35 he owes me)

Hope to see some results or videos from today's tournament and that it goes well.

As for the the other discussion, I'll add my 2 cents, even if they're a bit belated at this point. I've seen the gatorade and vodka combo before, but I never cared for it. The sprite bottles work for gin, vodka, or tequila. The rum and coke in coke bottles work, and I've also tried Dr. Pepper and rum. I prefer the rum, but the vodka is definitely less obvious in terms of smell. My favorite as a teen for concerts and such was the screwdriver. Just get OJ and vodka. Variants include using Nantucket Nectar (peach / orange) as a base, or using gin or tequila as the liquor.

With that being said, drugs and alcohol negatively impact my Smash abilities. Conversely, they make DK's taunt even more amusing. I'll add my disclaimer that I wouldn't drink at a tournament, I'm not a raging alcoholic, and I haven't had a drink in a while.

I'm sure bracket will be out soon but here is a brief summary for those who can't wait:

1. Star king (yes on a controller thanks to the low tech skill requirements of kirby)
2. Nintendude
3. Clubba
4. Weedwack
5. Cobr
5. Justin

A$ went 2 and out. First to Justin where he went all link and lost 2-1. Then to cobr where he lost 1 as link, then split the next 2 as falcon and lost 2-1.

Nintendude beat me in winner's semis, star king beat justin in winner's semis, then star king beat Nintendude in winner's finals.

Justin (guy who joined me and A$ last week for some smash) I believe got tied for 5th with Cobr? Him and weedwack had a great set that went right down to the wire in loser's quarters, but weedwack took the set.

After beating cobr in loser's quarters, I beat weedwack in loser's semis, but again lost to nintendude in loser's finals.

Nintendude forced a reset on star king, but star king won the second set.

Even though I played pretty terribly in the tournament I still had a lot of fun for my first tourney. Thanks to Cobr and Weedwack for coming up to me Friday night to take me to MD for the tourney, as well as A$ for the decent CRT. Hope to see many of you at Smashacre next.

i used vodka and orange juice in a gatorade bottle in case you were curious of results. it was three olives vodka and tropicana orange juice, so none of that low grade amateur garbage.

What was the character matchup for the finals?

Nicely done. Had I gone to the tournament, I probably would've been too focused on the game to notice your unusually opaque gatorade.

GOOD **** STARKING!!! :)
These results are ****ing sweet!

Congrats to this Justin kid who seems pretty dirty.
Good **** to Cob for taking out Moogs and good **** to LawnMo for taking out the kid who sent Moogs to loosers. North East is the BEST.
A job well done to Clubba and Nintendude for consistently playing well in tournaments!
And kudos (lol idk if kudos is the right word but whatever) to Moogs for going Link and Falcon!

Wish there were videos. I wonder how StarKing vs. Clubba would have went. Someone tell this Justin kid to start going to more tournaments! And to make a real tag lol.

Man IDK why I'm like doing shout outs for a tournament I didn't even go to but these results have me hella excited. I ****ing love it when the underdog wins.

Good job to everyone! Man I wish I was at this thing.

eggs: character matchup was mostly nintendude's fox vs star king's kirby. star king went yoshi once, and it was a huge mistake.

rob: What else did you come down to this tournament for but to play all of virginia!

@Kero I wish there were vids too. I would like to take a look at my mistakes but I guess now they'll forever be lost. In 2 bo5 sets vs Nintendude I went 3-0 vs his mario (2 w/ pika, 1 w/ falcon), but 0-6 vs his pika (4 with falcon, 2 with pika). How can I figure out that pika without vids!?!?!?!? Also, I think we all know that I would've 6-0'd star king like I did the last time I played him on controller. He got lucky he didn't have to play me or A$

Justin is purty legit. He came to A$'s house last week to play some smash with us and we were pleasantly surprised at how good he was. Has most advanced techs down, lacking a bit in the spacing department and combo's are aren't always the greatest, but considering he rarely plays online and we were the first people from the community he's played, very impressive. Vs A$ he beat his link 2-1, with the final game of the set being pika v link on hyrule. Something Kero couldn't even do! So yea, #VaMdIsTheBestRegion
