Bump. This seems to be helping people find out about other cities and their tournaments activity.

Just so people know, Sybawave is not a representative of the Texas Melee scene. He's just a Brawl-hating fascist *** hole. Most of us don't play it, but we have no problem with Brawl.

Sybawave, I left that group because a certain *** who wouldn't shut up about the most pointless things and talked like he was the king of Texas Melee. If that was you, way to completely defeat your own purpose.

Yeah, thanks for mentioning this. He does make Melee players look like complete ****s. I certainly know that Swift, Sethlon, Patrick, Hannah and many others are very respectable players in Texas, both in skill and attitude.

Also, pretty sure the person you're talking about is probably Kal.

Each time I walk into that group he's always *****ing. It's why I turned that **** off. Good job on assuming the wrong person though. And I don't even know half those players you just named...so other than Sethlon, I'm pretty sure you're lying about the skill part.

Then again it's not like you were ever a good judge of skill anyway. Seeing as how you got ***** so hard when you came down to Houston a few months ago. Have you even improved at all?

My only problem with Brawl was that it stole people from the Melee scene, including me for a whole year.
I pretty much had to re-learn Melee after I finally got fed up with Brawl.
Reintegrating things like dash-dancing, crouch canceling, wavedashing, SHFFLing, precise recoveries back into my playstyle.

It would be better to know all of those players since they are relatively good players with a great amount of skill level, but names aren't important for a melee revival. Moving on...

To be honest, it's not even about who's skilled or not, it's about how are we going to get melee back into the scene....so your little thing about him getting ***** has no purpose at all, it just adds more salt on the wound you just opened up.

Yes...the people who claim that brawl is responsible for the fall of melee, it's hard to say who or what is responsible. When something new comes out, it'll undoubtedly created a rift between the old and the new....but it's best to not completely blame the game for it. If melee players still wanted to play melee because they didn't like brawl or otherwise, they would of continued to do so, but i've seen it with my own eyes. Some people just fell out the scene. It happens....but it doesn't help to completely keep whining about something that has already happened.

So let's think about what we can do as a community to get the melee scene kicking back into 6th gear....instead of playing the blame game.

... and I thought I had a short fuse at times.. <.< We do both want the same thing, for Melee to grow. It's a real fun game that is under appreciated. If you want to know if I've improved or not, just play me. I'll be at the circuit event in November as well as that tournament in San Antonio that is coming up this month.

There are almost little to no melee tournaments in the DFW.

Well any noticeable ones anyways..

Also, that really sucks. Ugh...well, I'll see you in Austin and maybe SA. Not sure about the SA one yet though.

EDIT: Shoot ideas at me for the OP. I'll probably keep this one as active as the Houston one if people want it to exist. Let me know what y'all think.
