(((Rules)))
General (apply to all events unless otherwise noted):

* Stage Striking: Players eliminate stages from the Starter Stage List until only 1 remains, and the players then play the first match on that stage. Players strike stages in 1 2 2 1 order. The higher slot strike first.
* Items are set to off.
* Timed out matches will be determined by the remaining number of lives, then percentage of the current stock. In the event of a percentage tie, replay that match. Any Sudden Death match is strictly not to be played.
*One ban per player per set. To be chosen after loss.
* The loser of the first match will announce a new stage to play on for the next game. The winner will then be allowed to switch characters, followed by the loser. Apply the same logic for the third match (and fourth/fifth when applicable) if there is one. (Advanced Slob Picks)
*You cannot go back to the last stage you won in a set, unless agreed upon by the other player. (Modified Dave's Stupid Rule)
* Blind Picks: the first character selection of a set must be without prior knowledge of the opponent's character selection for both players, same for doubles.
* For doubles: Team Attack will be ON, life stealing allowed.
* Wobbling is banned.
* There will be no ties in any tournament. Anyone refusing to play any Match (including the finals) will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.
* Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally under performing, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.
* Late Arrival Rule - If you want to enter after registration closes, you will have to pay $5 more for venue fee. NO EXCEPTION!
*Wobbling banned again for fun

Brackets:

* Bracket matches are best 2 of 3, 4 stock.
* 8 minute time limit.
* Winners' bracket finals, losers' bracket finals, and championship sets are all best 3 of 5.

Final Destination
Yoshi's Story
Dreamland 64
Battlefield
Fountain of Dreams (1v1 only)

*Counterpicks 1v1:

I do not approve of the stage list T.T Why are there so few choices lol

Where's Jungle Japes, Green Greens, Corneria, Mute City, PokeFloats, and even Termina Bay for doubles?

I vote we make GF 4-7.

I don't think anyone even knew what the rules were or paid attention at least. I remember Mute City and PokeFloats being played in a few places.

New rules suck so much.

We're past the point where Melee Pros are equal to Brawl Pros lol their metagame is too far along that we simply can't just keep up with it. Also, there are a few too many technical things that we don't know about in that game unless we paid attention to Brawl and knew about them. Half of those things are the crap that surprise me lol

Good! :) It's about danm time. Texas used to have one of the biggest Melee scenes. Now we have one of the smallest. :/

How many people total are there? I know there aren't a lot, at HOBO you guys are generally off in a corner somewhere.
I remember when i 1st started doing melee tournaments at test your skills, the turnouts would be 22+ players. I mean last time, there was 4-6 new players and 1 of them was solid from what lee martin told me. Hopefully melee houston can make a comeback if there is enough hype...

Yep, another attempt at Melee 2. B+/BB/B- and now PM were attempts to make brawl better and all have failed. NONE of these have ever/will ever become standard and thus a waste of time. Like normal.
I wonder how many versions will it take to actually make brawl melee? maybe 6 different versions:laugh:

From what I've heard, Project M looks promising. Also, I tried Brawl for awhile. It's just not for me. I don't bash the **** out of Brawl like you bash the **** out of Melee, TGM.
