teching falco's dair

sorry for asking something thats probably been asked a million times before but the search produced almost every thread on smashboards so that didnt help much. anyway how can fox walltech falco's dair when coming back to the stage? i can tech alot of peoples dairs (captain falcon especially hes way to easy) but for some reason i can only get falco's maybe once every fifteen times. can anyone help me with this is there something im missing?

I don't think there's any secret to it. Just keep practicing, you'll get better with muscle memory.

yeah i know but its not like every other tech. like i said before i can tech plenty of characters down airs when im coming back to the stage multiple times in a row and the only problem i have is with falco's dair.

all i know is, that if you get pillar-ed you can't tech in the NTSC version.
But I don't know whether it's right...

But anyway, seeing as Falco's dair has a great hitbox, you might be teching it a little too late because you're not expecting it. Other than that, it could just be that you need to practice against it. Sorry, but that's all I could come up with. Good luck.

It depends on the timming Falco uses when hitting with the dair. He normally uses a short hop and then dair, so when you get hit, you will be a bit higher from the ground, so to tech the timming will change. Try pressing L a bit later than normal.

Are you even touching the wall when he attempts the spike? Cuz lately i've gotten pretty good at teching the dairs against falco, but when i miss it's usually b/c i'm slightly off the wall...or he suicide spikes me... Other than that you'll just have to play with the timing. Doesn't really take long to get it right.

Are you pushing the control stick towards the stage when you tech?

This is an old thread... but hopefully this'll help someone. When you tech the dair, he can hit you early or late, or right when you're up against the wall. Just keep in mind you have to tech towards the edge, not just smash right. Your SDI might need to be a bit better, too, since it hits you out and down instead of just straight down.

You don't even have to smash d.i. most times. Just d.i. towards stage and tech a second before you get hit by the dair. Hold up on the control stick if you want to tech walljump, its alot easier that way. Neutral on the stick for no walljump.
