techchasing/foxtrotting issues

I can't seem to techchase right. I'm foxtrotting to techchase, but whenever I try to change directions, I crouch and then walk out of it. I'm not sure if I'm moving my control stick correctly, currently I'm dashing to the right, smashing my controlstick down, then trying to smash it to the left from the bottom of the controlstick-area. (sort of like moonwalking path). Are my fingers not fast enough, or am I not doing the right motions?

i thought you dash dance to tech chase. and you never push down when your dash dancing. not that i know.
no, you dont press down.

foxtrot is like dashdancing in one direction, you tap to the right to start your dash but not a run. and keep taping in rhythmic fashion to prevent from going into your run animation. this cuts the lag of running, plus falcon has fastest dash in game.

its not needed, but you should know that you can only fox trot after the dash animation has ended, so if you try to press down and back right away you will be doing a really slow moonwalk. you cant crouch in your dash animation, only in the run animation. but again fox trotting is not needed to tech chase, just dashdance then follow. they cant get out if you react fast enough.
