Tech Chasing

We need new Ganon ATs, guys. I think we can all agree that the Flight of Ganon has not been the Second Coming like we hoped. The time has come for us to stop waiting for a tech to fall into our laps. We need to find what there is to find. List in this thread anything, anything at all, that could be useful for this. I am convinced that we have all the pieces for some amazing new tech, and we just need to put the puzzle together. I'll start.

-The Up Taunt raises Ganon off the ground, allowing him to dodge green shells and similar things.

-The Warlock Punch, when not done on a ledge, makes Ganon teleport forward a bit. This is clear if it is done in Tiny Mode. You know how specials cover the same distance there as in normal? The distance the punch reaches stays the same, so he teleports forward to reach.

-The FoG works better in Metal Mode. FoG seems to completely reverse up and down for Ganon.

Post info and theories please. This is the only way Ganon is going to see any real improvement, so I hope you all will gladly join me in this. I'm willing to test anything asked of me, though I can't get frame data or anything like that.

Don't have anything, but I think one of the prime things we need to do is try to somehow improve Ganon's grab game.

I think I may be getting something with Ganon's reverse warlock punch, as I started researching when I saw the weird effects of it's collision with some reverse moves, namingly Pit's shield and Mario's cape.

Any stage hazards with a similar effect? The catapult on Pirate Ship maybe? That would be the best move ever. The opponent is on the left side of the screen, so you come flying at them super fast and slam into them like a purple meteor. Everyone dies.

Every little quirk helps, people. One person's trash is another person's treasure. We need to truly pool ALL the Ganon knowledge.

-The jab does not electrify the opponent if you hit with your shoulder.

...Gleam's thread?
Gleam's thread is for techs and skills, or so its title would have me believe. You won't fine much of either here (unless we actually discover something). All the points I have made so far are not in any guide because they are seen as useless, which they are. I'm just seeing if there is some way to combine two little things into one not little thing.

-Sidestep let's you inch forward.

-It seems the wind of the Utilt reaches exactly as far as its range.

-The Murder Quake exists (now nobody else has to mention it).

I'd assume my thread was techs and skills also...
---

Anyways, I'm all up for a bit of Ganon Quirks. It would be a good, or at least cool way to understand the physics revolving around Ganondorf and seeing the utilizations of these physics to better enhance his metagame.

There isn't much left TO discover because everything you mention has either already been tested and deemed useless or deemed useless in itself.

Face it - there's no mystical AT that will make Ganondorf (or Brawl for that matter) better, so what? Brawl just doesn't have a whole lot to work with for AT's because the designers didn't want them anymore. Where they usually left them in, they've taken them out now.

(Yes, a lot of important AT's in Melee were intended or left in. The fact that the PAL version has wavedashing should tell you enough).

I'm chasing after hidden techs. I felt the title might catch some attention.

Twilight Prince's only trying to discover something, I don't see anything wrong with that. I also don't agree about there being no advanced techniques left, for Ganon. When everyone had their hopes down about Ganon's meta game, we found something astonishing which none of us would think of.

When Up tilting, Ganon's shoulder (behind him) has the ability to push a opponent back when in contact.

So wait I get a $H!Tty copy of brawl and someone in the world gets a wavedashing broken more than ever copy? I'm wanting to take my love for Nintendo and cram it down Sakurai's throat. It may be more broken than all heck but it would at least make the game a little more fun and ridiculous.

Oh it did, but since I was about to make a topic about tech chasing lets discuss some uses of platforms and Ganon's F+B :D

Programming error. Someone screwed up the threads.

You put in a jump input and the Kick input at the same time.

The game sets a 'direction' variable to up (from jump) after Kick sets it to be down. Then the Wizkick sets the momentum.

See, because both jump and wizkick zero your momentum first, under normal conditions. As does the ground.

So maybe it's like Sheik's chain jacket. . . there's a value that's supposed to be set, but it steals it from something else. But in this case, it's a simultaneous input instead of an old one, because someone programmed it such that the line-by-line execution doesn't realize that simultaneous input is simultaneous, and shouldn't be crossed.

The metal property makes you heavy, increasing your max fall speed. I believe WizKick puts you at fast fall speed. . . does WizKick in metal form make you go down really fast? Does it make you go farther?

Metal WizKick and normal are identical in every way as far as I can tell.

Stuff that can't hit a bomb that is just sitting there:
- Warlock Punch (both forms)
- WizKick (ground)
- Fsmash (except tilted down)
- Dsmash (worthless piece of ****)
- Jab
- Ftilt
- First part of Uair
- Nair
- Bair (even with fast fall)
- Up B (shocking, right?)
- I forgot to test Fair >_>

Stuff that is disjointed enough to hit the bomb without hurting you:
- Murder Quake (behind only)
- Usmash (the only thing in this post worth reading)

That Usmash sure is impressive.

Here's something else:
1) Hold A (keep holding after the jab)
2) Walk
3a) Press Up+Back on the C-stick to do that new spin walking thing that sucks.
3b) Press Up or Down on the C-stick to start running at full speed (hit Up or Down again to stop moving)
3c) press forward or back on the C-stick to Fsmash in either direction (boring)
3d) [this is the reason I am posting this] Hit Down+Forward at the same time on the C-stick to duck. Let go of the C-stick to go back to walking. I think (it would be nice if someone verified this for me) that this can be done faster than regular ducking. You can from walking to walking again in less time than the whole duck animation normally takes. If someone can confirm this for me, it is technically a discovery. ;)
