Yes Tails, Sonic's faithful companion who has been around since Sonic 2.

WHO: Miles "Tails" Prower
WHAT: Two-Tailed fox who hangs around with Sonic and accompanies him on most of his adventures.
WHEN: November 21st, 1992
WHERE: SSBB, I hope
WHY: Tails has appeared with Sonic since his second major game and has garnered seniority and noteriety as Sonic's partner. He would easily fit into the SSBB universe along side Sonic while retaining enough individuality and style to give him a movelist all his own. He is to Luigi as Sonic is to Mario and it only makes sense that he appear in the next installment of the Super Smash Bros. series. He was popular enough to make it into a fake SSBM code, so he's popular enough to turn that dream into a reality.

Sonic's right hand man
Appeared in his own games (plural)

I played "Tail's Adventure" and I must say it was a rather enjoyable game. However, I still think Sonic is more recognizable and popular to make it in. Hee's also the series Main Character and Tails is his sidekick. Y'now, Mario = Sonic, Luigi = Tails, Peach = Amy Rose, etc. Can't find someone to be Knuckles

You're quite right. Sonic is more recognizable than Tails, but who says they can't both be in? The whole minimalist belief in the third party participation was said a while ago from a source I can't even confirm but even if it is true, it wouldn't be the first time Nintendo has had a change of heart.

well about the third party thing i think its like the most regognizable popular characters from certain games get invited to ssbb, i can imagine sonic getting a phone call saying "ur invited to join ssbb" but i cant imagine tails getting one. he isnt the main character. only sonic would represent sega

If we're going in order of Sonic character to Mario characters, Sonic and Tails would be next. Then, in the next Smash Bros, we would have Eggman, Amy, and Metal Sonic. I don't know where Yoshi and DK fall into this. Well... if you stretch it, DK could be Knuckles since they were both originally rivals to the hero.

As for the Kirby hat sitch... I think the ears and twin tails will do.

I have no idea. You normally put that on topics that have a bunch of pictures, to warn people on dial-up that it will take a while to load. A single picture probably doesn't constitute that warning though.

Well, not really. It is like McFox said, they are posted when there are a lot of pictures. Screen streching pics affect everyone, not only dial-up users.

For his Brawl move, wouldn't it be better if he either transforms into Turbo Tails (it might be comic only, I'm not sure) or summons the Tornado and controlit temporarily (either in plane or mech mode ala SA2). Just a thought. But I really doubt more than one Sonic character will make the cut this time around - and that's if SEGA gets a spot... Though chances are high, it's not definite.

EDIT: As far as the 56k Warning, they can take a while to download even one pic... I know because I used to have 56k - It's God-awful slow!

I'll leave that to my sister; she's a die-hard Sonic fangirl. But she's not coming home till sometime next month, so that's off the table for now... At any rate, the previous post was just suggestions to the moveset you proposed - I found nothing wrong with it, just threw out some ideas tha popped up in my head. Also, for some reason, the Tails missions in the Tornado mech are what I remember most from SA2.

Oh, I know you weren't trying to bash my moveset. I also remember the Tails and Eggman missions from SA2: Battle. Despite what a lot of reviews say, I actually enjoyed them. Hidden Base was probably my favorite of the mech levels.

As great as Tails is, Sonic comes first. And with Brawl only having three third-party characters (at most), it is not very likely that he will be one of the three. I'm predicting that the top characters from very popular series will be the lucky trio.

Solid Snake, Sonic, and Megaman are my three predictions.

Possibly in the next installment of Smash.

Hmmm, you mention paperwork and fuss as being a big problem for Tails' debut in SSBB but I see it another way. If Sonic is indeed a shoo-in as everyone says, then wouldn't it be easy for Nintendo to just add Tails to whatever paperwork they're filling out for Sonic? Instead of meeting with every video game company known to man, why not keep things easy by saturating the game with multiple mascots of the same company? It would be less paperwork for more characters. If anything, your argument disproves such a notion.

Again, I support Tails for SSBB, although it's more likely he'll have to wait till SSB4 - but you never know... Also, it may be worth noting that Tails was the title character of atleast 2 games that I know of (both Game Gear games), which is the most for a Sonic universe character(Knuckles and Shadow each have one) other than the hedgehog himself. Just something to consider...

Sonic Runs, Tails flys.

They would prolly have a fully different set of aireals.

No. I'm sorry to sound blunt, but no. When it comes to using copyrighted material, there is no cutting corners. Sega is gonna want money and paperwork and fuss for each character Sakurai asked for. That means the equal amount of money and paperwork and fuss for both Sonic and Tails. And Sakurai probably won't want that. Nintendo won't want that. That money lost.

I mean, I'm not totally dissproving Tails being in SSBB, it just seems highly, highly unlikely. No matter what anyone tells you, money DOES make the world go round.

Well, you're definitely right about how money makes the world go round. I don't know the processes involved to getting the rights to the use of a character so I guess I'll take your word for it although I'm still sure that getting mascots from the same company would be easier than mascots from multiple different companies. I think my biggest reason for believing that Tails would come with Sonic is because it's kind of expected after EGM's scandal. It technically holds no water but it put ideas into people's heads. I'm sure Sakurai is aware of that.

Are you sure? Look at SSBM for a moment ant count the serieses with more than one character. By that logic, why add any more Pokemon?

Yes, Pokemon did help Nintendo a lot but we already have four playable pokemon and a plethora of pokemkon that appear in Pokeballs. 2 =/= 4+
