I noticed that when you hit your opponent with the tip of Kirby's feet during the dsmash, it sends them horizontally on a nasty trajectory...

I would like that you guys share some of your ideas on how to land more sweetspotted hits with Kirby's downsmash.

So what? Based on that title I guess no other thread need even exist.

You can try WDing to set it up or simply judge spacing well. It is a good tactic to use when edge-guarding. WDing is probably the best way to go about it.

As an edgeguard it's nice to hit 'em with the edge of kirby's feet. But also it depends on the character you're fighting.

If you hit a light char while being right next to them,(or right on top of them,) it's a good KO attack as opposed to "sweetspotting" on the tip of his feet. For example of you d-throw --> d-smash on light chars at fairly high %'s it could ko them (vertically) . But as for the heavier chars that would die easier horizontally, it's better (as Buttcrust said) to WD-->d-smash (sweetspotted)

Thx for your replies guys...

I've watched t!mmy's combo vids and I see that he managed to land a few ones right after Dair...

I wont play ppl until Tuesday, so I'm going to experiment a bit with it then. If you got some more things to share, go ahead.

Well... If you dash towards them and crouch and tap down on the c-stick its as if you did a Downsmash straight from a dash.

I've had most success with it against sweet spotters, and even more with Space animals who are slightly off. I hit it more often when they come in halfway thorugh it, instead of at the beginning. However, this sacrifices power.

After playing Kirby so much, you just see when you can hit with a D-smash and where it will send them. For instance, if Samus is at 150% and dash-attacks me, I can crouch under and hit with the vertical sweetspot for a KO.

If Fox is recovering, I can stand so the tips of Kirby's toes just barely go over the ledge and hit him if he uses Up+B or Side+B to recover. (Kirby's feet have amazing priority with the D-smash).

If I d-air someone at the ledge, chances are they aren't DIing away, so a d-smash follow up will usually toe-tipper them.

A lot of spacing comes before you even see that you can hit your opponent with something. This is especially true with Kirby because he can't make up for it with speed.
