Undertale seems to be hands down the most talked about/referenced game on here that hasn't hit Nintendo platforms in a good while.

I love the whole LED lighting thing.

Now combine that with the amiibo stand that plays certain sounds when you place the amiibo and that is something I will actually pay for XD

This is probably the best amiibo display I've ever seen. It's great.
But what's he going to do when they add more amiibo? :/
(I imagine it's to replace those 8-bit Marios?)

I am genuinely worried about X. I do not have the same time I had for the first Xenoblade to get engrossed in the world. So when I play will be a whole lot less and I plan to go all out and explore everything.

Update: I threw a decent chunk of change at it. Not real sure the gameplay is totally to my liking, but it's a beautiful game that needs the support.

Zun has said that Touhou is 'just a hobby' to him, while his main dream in life was to open his pub. Though, why he's such a xenophobe about Touhou, your guess is as good as mine.

And trust me, there are plenty of 'bad' people in the Touhou fanbase.

also kinda tangential but he has been getting into western culture in some...... "other ways".

it's kind of a cultural divide thing because the doujin thing is... not really something that exists or has an equivalent in the west, because of stricter copyright and stuff. it's also primarily reliant on physical distribution, which is obviously a lot easier in a smaller country like japan.
most of the "xenophobia!" stuff is essentially because of that touhou smash bros thing. it broke his specific rules on what you are and aren't allowed to do with the ip (in this case, crowdfunding), and the person/people making it knew it.

Honestly though, I still think using the switch mechanic from DKC would be better than the connected buddy system of this game

And I love how whenever it comes up, the only excuse they have is that making jokes and playing games at the same time is hard, even though...it really isn't that hard.
And better yet, how about have one person focus on the game and then have the other make the jokes? Seems like an incredibly simple solution.

There are people who do the exact same on their own and do it better most of the time. Arin's idea of a joke is jumping in the instakill water and yelling 'OOPS!'

Hitler mustache isn't a thing here. Even the Pokemon show had a guy with a Hitler mustache.

A lot of Japanese shows have information about "foreigners" and "Japanese" lumped into two groups. There's a lot of nationalism/ somewhat racist things that happen on TV...but most of the time it's not mean spirited or anything. Being culturally senestive is something that was never a requirement in Japan.

I've been actively discrimated once in the five years I've lived here. A guy hit me on the train because he didn't like foreigners. Besides that there's been some
Misunderstandings but not really active discrimination. Of course, I'm white and male so I automatically get a lot less. I still get a lot of stares, and I very easily stick out.
