I was wondering if Litten may have had a little inspiration from Jibanyan and Yokai Watch when I first saw it. (Probably because it has a fire cat motive going on, and probably even more if it ends up being half ghost type....)

I'm probably going to wait a little further until I've seen all the final evolutions of the starters before I settle on which one to pick though. (Although I'll most likely get the other two through trade anyway)

I saw a copy of Shovel Knight 3DS at a store for $10.

Is it worth it?

Man, anyone here use PokeJungle? I saw this post on Twitter and their replies (well, whoever runs their account) are pretty disrespectful.

They are gone it looks like, I don't see them.

And I just saw this in Alpha's new Story for glory and couldn't stop laughing:

I'm probably gonna do what I did with Gen 5 + 6 and ditch my starter the moment I can (though I will pick Bowtie Owl because he's the best).

I feel like it gives me a larger view on what the new generation has to offer. Kinda like I can now build a team using the new tools given to me.

Also Frostwraith Frostwraith I had a question for you:
I've been recently getting into the Tokyo Ghoul manga, and I was wondering is the anime was okay.
I've heard both good and bad (general consensus being it's okay, but not as good as the manga), but I wanted to know what you though.

I'm sure one of the character designers had thought of Jibanyan when making Litten, but I do not think the thought process of Litten did not originate from Jibanyan.

And actually, I think Litten closely resembles the Nekometa more than Jibanyan.

I haven't watched the Assassination Classroom anime. I did read the manga in its entirety, though. Good stuff.

Good to know you still have some good taste in anime. >:)

I could also post some really cheesy stuff about how you're back and all, but we've been talking on Twitter. :p

I've tried the Yokai Watch demo. You can check my impressions on my Twitter.
Iron Fortress is pretty badass, it's essentially AoT + Codename Steam. Looking forward to the next subbed episodes.
I also watched Seven Deadly Sins, and so far it's okay with its first four episodes.

But isn't Jibanyan and Espeon based on the same thing?

Nekomata?
Considering both are cats with two tails, yeah.

Well, Espeon doesn't quite have two tails, but it forks anyway.

Now, that's one manga I haven't gotten into.

However, from what I've seen on the Internet, the general consensus is that the manga is better.

From what I know, the anime's story diverges from the manga halfway through and has some plot holes due to omitting some details from the manga.

The only one left was the PS4 version and I have no PS4.

Stupid, I was gonna wait once I got my lunch to pick it up. Oh well, I should have bitten earlier

I have Shovel Knight on Steam and I can say it's excellent. IDK how the 3DS version compares, but I imagine it'd be pretty good?

My full thoughts on the new Pokemon Sun & Moon:

I pretty much expected the region to be based on Hawaii with people heavily speculating upon the first S/M trailer. It is not what I would want to see for Pokemon's 20th anniversary, Alola is an okay setting. Graphically, not much has changed aside from the character models being more human. They used to show those full human models only in battles in X/Y, now you can see those models outside of that. I thought it was cool touch. Overall though, the graphics still look a bit choppy, but it is a nice step forward.

The biggest positive s that it looks like you have free movement in the game. The environments no longer look grid-based and being able to move in any direction is a huge refresher to me. I thought X/Y would originally implement this, and it was disappointing to not have free movement in those games. Glad to see it finally implemented.

In terms of starters, I AM PICKING LITTEN. Being loosely related to Jibanyan, I have to get him, regardless whether or not he has a suckish evolution. Plus, I never really picked a Fire Starter in any Pokemon game, it is really going to make for a slightly different experience for me. I have gotten used to Popplio and Rowlet, they look great after looking at them for a while.

For the Legendaries, I do not care that much about them, although the Moon legendary does catch my eye.

Overall the games look slightly promising, I am hoping that they improved the plot from X/Y. Despite my positive opinions, I'm going to wait for more to get revealed before finalizing my purchase. I'm seeking more things that will hook me back to Pokemon again.
Hey, Welcome back Blue...
(totally did not expect you to pick the fire cat)

Regardless the promise of an epic Fire Tiger is too good to pass on...

Idk if you're much of a PC gamer, but the Steam version might be an option. Unless you specifically want a physical copy or something.

Same can be said for the hat-waifu in your avatar. Assuming she's from that Samon manga you talked about.

At least we all know what your taste in women is like. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Popplio is one of those Pokemon that there's both things I like and don't like about it. I like it a lot better than Litten (though not as much as Rowlet), but I can't say I'm all hyped for it either.

Then again we also know jack about the region in of itself, so that could very much change.

So basically what they did to Full Metal Alchemist. Yeah I can see that.

Also I think it would be something you'd like. I wouldn't say it's the best story out there, but for what it is it's entertaining at the very least.

Edit: I really gotta start reading my words through. Or at least not use sight like a brick wall would.

I know right, isn't Sargatanas the cutest demon you've seen in a shonen manga? Though that's not to say that Samon and Nebiros aren't lookers themselves. Yes, she's definitely from Samon the Summoner.

Oh you! Embarrass

AoT + Codename Steam? lol

Well, it is a post-apocalyptic steampunk setting, so I suppose the comparison is valid. :p

The over-the-top action, melodrama and the majestic soundtrack make for a great experience, even though the plot is pretty much cliché'd.

The Seven Deadly Sins is badass, I'll tell you. The manga is better, though. The anime has a few plot holes due to omitting some details from the manga, but nothing major and certainly not warranting the salt from some fans of the manga back when it aired.

So basically what they did to Full Metal Alchemist. Yeah I can see that.
Essentially the same thing. Of course, as with FMA, the fanbase is divided over which continuity is better.

For all purposes, though, the manga is the true canon.

Also I think it wouldn't be something you'd like. I wouldn't say it's the best story out there, but for what it is it's entertaining at the very least.
On the contrary, I actually am interested in Tokyo Ghoul. I can definitely see the similarities to Parasyte that a lot of people made back when both anime adaptations aired.

That's actually a steal. Especially since the game has more content coming that's not even out yet.

Go for it. Wii U version is the best version but handheld Shovel Knight is great too.

Yeah sorry about that, I made an error. Blame my crappy eyesight.
I am recommending it, it's pretty good.

I'm fully caught up on the Tokyo Ghoul manga, the anime is bad.

It shiftes around events in the first half for no real reason which makes a lot of character development feel forced as opposed to the natural feel of it in the manga. It also removes a lot of symbolism and hidden meanings. Tokyo Ghoul Root A is laughable really, the studio was supposed to follow notes from the original creator as an alternate take to the manga but they decided to just say "lol **** that" and made up their own poor plot.

The Mangaka is insanely good at world building and foreshadowing. He foreshadows tons of things in the first 12 chapters that come into play now in TG :re, over 200 chapters later.

Ah, I see. I suppose I could check it out.

Kinda what happened to Blue Exorcist and Soul Eater. =/

Still not over those anime adaptations carelessly diverging from the source material and making up some mediocre endings.

Blue Exorcist is especially bad as it only adapts the introductory arcs from the manga before diverging, meaning a lot of what makes the manga good isn't there and some plot points that did get adapted in the otherwise anime-original storyline feels rushed in comparison.

The manga gives the side characters a lot more attention, with some arcs being more dedicated to them than the MC and does a great job at fleshing out what in the beginning are very archetypical and cliché'd characters. It's one of the manga that sticks out in my mind in regards to memorable character development, in my opinion.

I might be checking it out one day.

While we're on this I'd also say give The Sandman a look. It's considered one of the best comics to have come out of the 80's-90's and for good reason. And still has a unique identity even today - most of that coming from both the dark and often surrealistic premise and also the way the story is told.

It's also one of the few American comics that has little to do with superheroes. Something you sadly never see outside of the occasional independent comic and that's a shame.

Man, I should really get back into reading comics.

There was a few years ago that I bought a bunch of old DC comics on digital stores, but I haven't read a lot lately.

Neil Gaiman wrote Sandman, correct?

Hey guys it's been a while. I'm back from my break from Smashboards.

Upon my absence, I became a big fan of Assassination Classroom, Nisekoi, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. I am still the big YW fan as I am and still pushing to make the franchise big. I am hoping to participate in more discussions here. I missed two big pieces of news like Pokemon Sun/Moon and the NX news, and I might giver my full thoughts on the new Pokemon game soon.
Welcome back, Fumi!

They don't look noticeably fake or anything, but something seems. . .off.

The art looks a bit choppy to be real upon zooming in the images.
. . .Yeah. That sounds like it might be it. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. Something was just. . .up with the way it was drawn.

Considering it's Pokemon's 20th anniversary, I was kind of hoping that the region would be based on a more popular, inspired country. Not that Hawaii is a bad idea, I was just expecting more.

I like to think of it this way: After 20 years, the dev team is finally giving themselves a vacation. :troll:

But anyway, what areas do you think would have been a grander approach for a region?

Meh. Probably 2nd least favorite base levels (Only beating gen 6) We'll see if any becomes the next Oshawott (I looooove Samurott) though

Sun Lion looks AMAZING. Moon . . .bat? looks okay too I guess. Maybe more footage will make it look better. (I hope it foes)

I miss anything else in my short absence? Because there is no way I am reading those past few pages.

PS did anyone see this article on Lionhead? Talks about their closure and Fable 4 being denied
