My full thoughts on the new Pokemon Sun & Moon:
I pretty much expected the region to be based on Hawaii with people heavily speculating upon the first S/M trailer. It is not what I would want to see for Pokemon's 20th anniversary, Alola is an okay setting. Graphically, not much has changed aside from the character models being more human. They used to show those full human models only in battles in X/Y, now you can see those models outside of that. I thought it was cool touch. Overall though, the graphics still look a bit choppy, but it is a nice step forward.
The biggest positive s that it looks like you have free movement in the game. The environments no longer look grid-based and being able to move in any direction is a huge refresher to me. I thought X/Y would originally implement this, and it was disappointing to not have free movement in those games. Glad to see it finally implemented.
In terms of starters, I AM PICKING LITTEN. Being loosely related to Jibanyan, I have to get him, regardless whether or not he has a suckish evolution. Plus, I never really picked a Fire Starter in any Pokemon game, it is really going to make for a slightly different experience for me. I have gotten used to Popplio and Rowlet, they look great after looking at them for a while.
For the Legendaries, I do not care that much about them, although the Moon legendary does catch my eye.
Overall the games look slightly promising, I am hoping that they improved the plot from X/Y. Despite my positive opinions, I'm going to wait for more to get revealed before finalizing my purchase. I'm seeking more things that will hook me back to Pokemon again.
