....aaaaand The Operation was Completed Successfully!!
with an abysmal clear time and 78% item collection rate...

Had lots of fun playing through this game once again though, and this time actually completing it...Next attempt I'll try to for a better time now that I got the jist of it...Don't think I'll get any 40 minute completion anytime soon however...
unfortunately I was running low on time at the end so I was unable to save the animals ;_;7 rest in spagetti poor lil Etecoons and Dachoras...
Now I just need to play Metroid II, Fusion and Hunters and I'll have all Metroid games under my belt...well except for Pinball that is...

Anyways, stepping away from Zebes for the time being and going back to Hyrule, first game chronologically in the downfall timeline, A Link to the Past next!
Don't worry too much. It took me 2 playthroughs to get a good clear time at Super Metroid.

Although the first time I got 100% and the second time, I sped through it but my clear % was horrible.

I wasn't worried about getting 100%, I just wanted to actually complete the game...
truth be told I never have the patience to fully 100% complete any game, there's always a few pieces I miss and I never bother trying to find them...

This is my first time completing it so I wasn't expecting to get a good clear time regardless...

LOL, I was about to say "WOW, Nintendo sucks at lip syncing.

But then I remembered it was probably originally in Japanese
Considering it was done by two anime studios and by Nintendo themselves (Miyamoto, to be specific), it's obvious that it was originally in Japanese. The English dub was likely handled by Nintendo of America, as it's usually the case.

I need to check that out, though, even if I likely won't get the game.

I mean, it was done by Production I.G and Wit Studio... From them, I've watched Attack on Titan, Owari no Seraph and now I'm watching Joker Game (which is shaping to be one of the best anime I've ever watched).

As a matter of fact, though, the Star Fox Zero anime short is not the first time Production I.G worked with a Nintendo propriety: they've done some Pokémon anime movies, the cutscenes in the Tellius FE games and one of the KIU anime shorts were also made by them.

Oh I've played it and I hated it there too.

Stupid Nintendo and their Fujoshis bait of games just like the Tellius FE games, Star Fox Assault and KI: Uprising
Even without obvious bait, fujoshi will twist the relationship of two male characters as something more than it actually is.

Never underestimate the dedication of certain fans, which makes such pandering an actually good business practice if only to attract those fans into something they otherwise wouldn't get into. More fans = more money. (Even though if they're enjoying a work for the wrong reasons, but I digress...)

...And back to work. See ya.

I don't have much of a problem with people enjoying a work for "wrong" reasons - The fun we have with blind-idiot translations and mondegreens and so-bad-its-good stuff is also a case of that, after all - as long as they don't push it on others.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying something for the "wrong" reasons. Frankly, it's condescending to put someone down for the way they enjoy something (unless it's harmful or unhealthy in some way).

What's important though, is that a work of fiction doesn't lose sight of it's spirit and reduce itself to pandering completely to that specific niche. Nothing wrong with throwing the odd bone, but don't do it too much.

I was mostly just making a joke in reference to B-tier buddy cop movies with my previous posts, and how they always have that one scene with the two male friends working out in sweaty tank tops and what not. I don't think Fox X Falco is a legitimate pairing that could ever work, I just view it as a "bromance" situation myself.

So I'm worried I'm missing out on some great 3DS Indie games, as my knowledge of the scene is limited. This is what I currently have downloaded:

SteamWorld Dig
Dillon's Rolling Western
Mutant Mudds
Cave Story
Pushmo
Harmo Knight
Shovel Knight
Pokemon Shuffle

I have a few extra dollars at the moment and can probably afford to buy 3-4 games. Looking for suggestions please!

Edit: Also I am aware my display picture is broken, I tried loading a new one and got heaps of errors... cbf doing it now I'll do it tomorrow.

So I think Star Fox has seen a pretty decent return to the gaming world today. I'm pretty satisfied with the review scores. Most of them seem to be around the 3 out of 5 or 70+% scores, but regardless, I think I'll end up enjoying it alongside another blast from the past I'll be picking up this weekend, Ratchet and Clank.

The Star Fox short was really good, too! Loved it, and it'd be great if it could be taken even further with an actual anime series. The animation style was great, and nicely established the setting of SF0. I'm looking forward to it.

Radical Bones Radical Bones , I see you're not the only one having troubles to load a new avi. I was trying to get the Light Suit as my new avatar thanks to being on a Metroid hit the past week, especially trying to beat the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I re-watched the Star Fox anime while eating breakfast because god damn it makes me smile.

I noticed something though.

That anime actually reminded of Swat Kats somewhat, except for it being speciesbent.

Arthur Gies seems to have a history of vocally hating stuff.

Bayonetta 2, Witcher 3 and now Star Fox Zero.

It's a bit of a stretch to call SFZ "Platinum's Game".

And why are we still posting from Polygon again?

This Polygon bs might have replaced IGN's "too much water" as the most infamous anti-Nintendo journalism in my mind.

That said, I think only Star Fox Guard interests me enough to justify the purchase. I've never been a huge flight/rails shooter gameplay fan, and while I've always liked the Star Fox cast, the lore/story doesn't particularly entice me either. Star Fox is probably my least favorite "big" Nintendo franchise, but I wish the game well and hope it sells well enough to have a future.

Smh, people stealing my avis :/
Ironically, I disagree with the linked post
Because I really don't want the NX to have too many ports, and there's really no reason to get rid of a console unless the new one has backwards compatibility(but you might as well keep it for its own backwards compatibility, like keeping your Wii to play GC games)
Besides, it's stupid to spend money on ports of games you already own

If you're referring to the Smash 3DS / Wii U character discussion forum, that forum is closed for good; the character sub-forums are still open.
No I meant the thread where you post your own rosters for Smash 5.

Yeah I know about that thread. Was just wondering if the one in the NZ would ever see the light of day again.
I think its been closed indefinitely because there were too many arguments...

The NintenZone is the proper place for those kinds of threads right now. It's probably lying around somewhere, but if it's not around, then you can make a new thread for that kind of topic.

It's probably not worth it to discuss Smash 5 Roster right now.

It probably won't be relevant for another 3-4 years.

Plus we don't know franchises will look in 2019-2020 by this point.

There are no guarantees aside from the Inklings and Ice Climbers as a maybe.

If the original thread was about speculations/predictions for the roster, than I agree with you. It is way too early.

But if it's like the thread in Zeb's group, than it's just what we'd want to see rather than what we predict it to be. I don't really see much harm in opening it back up or making a new one.

Do you think we ever get the rosters right for a Smash game? lol. It's all in the name of fun and can be adjusted if anything ever comes up.

Might do that in the near future.

Yeah I saw all those flame wars in that thread and it's no wonder it got closed. People need to chill out when it comes to fantasy Smash rosters lol.

I think I like the term "Dream Roster" then. I think the last thread was more about speculation that high is why it probably got locked.

I have no problems with dream rosters since it's mostly what we 'want' but speculation leads to what we 'think' and 'think' & 'want' get skewed and blurred in the moment and become more about "This SHOULD happen or it sucks" mentality.

I'd advise against making a new thread without asking Frostwraith or PushDustIn. That thread was locked for a reason.

I have no plans on making a thread like that; I have no reason to anyway. I was just saying that any Smash 5 speculation should only take place at the NintenZone forum, as such topics have no business being in the other forums.

Why is DSPGaming successful even though he's the most hated LPer?
Why is Adam Sandler getting work even though his career dipped off a long time ago?
Why do most musical rejects still continue to make crappy music to adoring fans?

One you figure that out, then you'll get your answer.

Polygon's clickbait is beautiful. It's as if they didn't want SFZ to succeed (kinda like their projected Mario Kart 8 sales numbers which are still pretty funny to look at, especially when it'll most likely reach 8 million soon).

What a ****ing joke of a website.
