Comp #2: Sakurai's Garage Sale

That's right! Sakurai is holding a garage sale full of his old magical equipment and toys that will give you an advantage in your game! ( it's also cool to collect! )​

Rules: Every player automatically receives 500 coins at the start of the challenge. When the challenge begins on August 19th at 10:00 PM MT, Sakurai will ask me to auction two items of his choice. Once those items are both collected, the next two items will be available. There are 6 items in total, and the best items will be sold last.

When an item is being auctioned: There will be a starting bid. You must bid higher to be the holder. if you bid 500, the item is automatically given to you no questions asked.
If there isn't a person who bids 500 and it's a lower number, the highest bidder 24 hours after the items were auctioned will claim the reward.

How does my team win? The tribe who has the most cash by the end of the 6 items being sold wins!

Will you choose to buy items and spend your money? You don't have to spend any coins at all. Choosing not to spend coins gives your team more 'cash' for the end. The choice is yours. Benefit yourself or benefit your own team!

I'm more curious as to how the auction works with this win condition. Spend the least to get these items? If that's the case, we could make an agreement to just buy 3 items on each team for 3 coins each and tie it.

A tie would be very difficult to do unless you plan it with both tribes. Here's an example of what will be posted when the comp starts:

This rock is mighty fine. Looking at it's blueness can give just about anyone a wave of nothing!
The starting price for this item will be… 25 coins! (you must have your bid higher than the starting bid)

Our second item is… two glasses of milk!

Very replenishing and great for your bones!
The starting price for this item will be 50 coins!

If both 3 people spent 500 on each team, Team Melee would win because team brawl has one less member.
But I understand what you mean. If that actually happens, i'll talk to sakurai and figure something out.

I'm probably overthinking this all, the items are what's going to interest me though. The way it's built up shows that they'll be something that affects the game.

I'm confused. Why would anyone buy anything? It's not like we're going to actually get that item (probably XD), so why wouldn't everyone just spend no coins. That team would be guaranteed to win, or at least tie.

Like I said.... I intend to win this game of Survivor through pure skill and careful planning... If lying is ever the only way to avoid losing a challenge, that is the only time I would consider it.
