Super Smash Bros Character: Will Smash Bros have its own playable character?

Smash Bros has only had three games, yet it has become as sucesful and as well known as many of the other franchises that nintendo, Sony or Microsoft provide. since SSB 64 was released on the N64, we knew that the franchise was to bring characters from leading nintendo games, and now characters from the third party franchise have come to join the fray.

but something bothers me. the third game is on the way, we've seen third party enter, we've seen Subspace and everything else, but something is missing.

Master Hand, Crazy Hand, polygons, Wireframes and Subspace soldiers have proven an obstacle against our lyal smashers, but think.

will Smash bros have its own playable character to represent its franchise? I hope so. a character who had been generated from nothing, maybe a composite of the other characters?

I don't know. but it would be nice to see a representitive from Smash. the game would be awesome with or without him, but I just feel it's time for one, ya know?

Yes, i real but to tell you the truth not on Brawl, likely if they ake DS Smash Bros, they'll concintrate on story and online alot, likely the sotry will be based on one character (skilled at everyhting)

I like this idea a HUGE amount! I know Smash Bros. is all about pitting you're favourite nintendo games mascots against each other, but Super Smash Bros. has become my favourite game and now deserves a badass mascot.
I'm thinking a guy with the Smash logo as an emblem on his costume. Quite tall a kinda middleweight character who's a bit of an all rounder, only somehow distinctive.
Something easier to implement would be a kinda generic looking man (fighting wire frame-esque) who picks a random character's moveset at the start of a life so every time he dies he picks a new character's moveset. Although this would probably just annoy people (including me) as it has been done on countless beat-em-ups and always failed!

Britain, glaring at you **** yanks.
Super Smash Bros has always been, and always will be about representing what Nintendo is and has. It's about showing off the characters, not making their own. Imagine an Auction, where somebody is bidding for something, then the auctioneer bids against him.

I've gotta say Caael, Smash Lord or not, that is a pretty piss poor analogy. I understand what you're saying but even a playable villain of the series would be nice. Something new, someone we can't predict the moves for, something REALLY intuitive.

Ancient Minister anybody? You dont know he's not playable, do you.
What about Ancient Minister? The last part doesn't actually (in English) make sense. I mean it would make more sense WITH a question mark, but still not a huge amount.
I know who the Ancient Minister is but a non-playable enemy is nothing we haven't seen before. I want a playable unique-to-Smash Bros. character. If they can create, i think the count is at 4 or 5 now, unique villains why not a hero or a playable character for us.

Actually, it would be pretty cool at the end of SE when all the good guys had been beaten by the primid and the AM and then a Smash Hero came down ( Kid with the toys from SSB 64!) and you had to use him to defeat the AM.

Probably one of the most original and like able ideas I've heard on the smash boards Caael. Infact Smash Hero should be his name.

Smash Hero FTW

yeah I know what you mean, Ancient Minister is indeed a character, but he's a boss just like Master Hand, but what kind of character would he look like? Sakurai? lol..

Super Smash Brothers is pitting all of Nintendo's most famous characters and a few third party guys together for a "64, a Melee, and a Brawl". The only Generic Brawl characters there will be are NPCs..

Smash Hero would be cool.

but anyway, it was just a bit of speculation, not a fully fledged idea. if I went for a full idea, I would have put in a move set and everything

but I like your ideas. and I do understand Caael when he says that it would be kind of pointless. I guess that Smash DS would probably be best suited for something like this. Subspace is going to be awesome, and to have something that doesn't overshadow what the game really is. a central character and a story would best be saved for a spin off, I guess

He doesn't need to overshadow it. I do see what you're both saying though but I don't think a Smash Hero would cause to many complaints :)
