I checked the top 10 and wow, some people just should not expect any of their characters to be in. I mean I would love it if someone from DBZ got in but I have to be realistic and know that they have no chance. I guess I've figured out why I'm never on Facebook.

Ooof, I just completely finished Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.
One of the best sidescrollers I've ever played, I like it as much as Symphony of the Night.
Do any of you recommend another handheld Castlevania? (DoS is the only handheld Castlvania I played)
I would be really happy if they replaces Snake with Simon for SSB4

There's portrait of ruin (never played it, but I heard it's good)

The only Castlevania game I've really played is Judgement

Out of the portable Castlevania's. There is alot of choice, Aria of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Dracula X Chronicles, Order of Ecclesia, Harmony of Dissonance. All quite good. Circle of the Moon was ok as well iirc.

According to the internet gaming community, it's supposedly the worst of the three DS Castlevania titles.
I wanted to get Aria of Sorrow for the GBA, but people have told me it's disappointingly short (and it's still very expensive)

Portrait of Ruin is still great even if it isn't as strong as Order or Dawn. I also like Aria of sorrow more then Dawn. Personal preference there though.

Have you played Order of Ecclesia? That's the one I'm most interested in, but I haven't heard anyone's personal opinion, only game reviews.

Order of Ecclesia is alot of fun. One thing I will say however is, it is by far the most difficult of the more Symphony of the Night like titles. It has an interesting system for how to fight as well.

Is Aria of Sorrow worth the 20 dollars though? (that's the cheapest I could find it on both ebay and amazon)

20$.. Hmm, it sounds like a decent price for it to me. But maybe that is nostalgia blinding me a slight bit. Maybe see if you can find it a little lower [I got into the Castlevania series semi late and it was via Aria of Sorrow]

Well, Order of Ecclessia is cheaper, and presumably a larger game (right?), so I think I'll go with that one.
And even if it's not packing more content, it'll probably take me more time since it's harder too.

I'm a HUGE MGS fan, but I really wouldn't mind either. Castlevania also just seems more fitting for SSB than MGS.
Seconded. Castlevania has a lot of history with Nintendo, y'know? Way more than the MGS franchise.

Good to see another huge MGS fan. It's probably my favorite franchise in gaming right now. I'm probably gonna pick up the Legacy collection later this week, and subsequently take a nice break from the MMOs and other games I've been playing just to marathon my way through that. I'm going to do my playthrough chronologically, starting with the Peacewalker-era games to MGS4! I gotta get caught up for MGSV.

Awesome
I'm not getting the Legacy Collection, because I already own MGS1, MGS4, and the HD Collection.
I'll probably replay one of them though.

I might pick up Rising some day though. The story looks ehh, but it looks like a lot of fun.

Rising from what I've seen of it reminds me of the more modern Ninja Gaiden series. I'm not too sure if it plays similar to that though. I do know that it has its fair share of differences though like that cool "Blade Mode"

I've never played Castlevania and like Snake but don't expect him back, so whatever works. XD

Though I think I'd rather have Alucard over Simon, honestly. Then again, I like Symphony of the Night a lot.

I like Super Castlevania 4 and SotN equally, but the thing about Alucard is that SotN is a Playstation game. Simon Belmont was born and raised on Nintendo consoles.

Putting Alucard instead of Simon Belmont is borderline insulting

I'm also aware of Alucard debuting in Castlevania 3, but he became popular in SotN

Yea, I love Ninja Gaiden, which is why it interests me.
I've been craving another good NG style game, since NG3 disappointed.

I have a nasty habit of either losing games or selling them years prior; I've been better about it more recently, however. This time, I'll ****ing keep the Legacy collection and not get rid of it for something stupid. Lol.

Rising is the very definition of meh, in terms of both gameplay (it gets incredibly redundant at points) and story (if you're expecting a real continuation of MGS4, leave it at the door). I was actually very, very disappointed.

Also, don't get me wrong, I'm hyped about MGSV...I just wish Kojima would continue the story that was established in MGS4. The setting is perfect.

While out of all the Castlevania protagonists, I liked Richter the most. There is no doubt in my mind that if any of them got into Smash by some means. It should be Simon no doubts.

Yea, I sold a lot of Wii games a couple years back, and I regret it so badly. (Madworld, Punchout, Warioware SM, Warioland SI, NMH2, and Tatsunoko v Capcom)

I stopped doing that though, because I realized how dumb it was.

Also, I don't know how to feel about MGSV, I'm super hyped, but I'm not sure about some things. They seem to be focusing too much on hyper-realism for my taste, and it might kill some of the magic of MGS.

MGS games always had cutting edge graphics for the time, but didn't care so much about realism (cyborg ninjas, vampires, ghosts), and that always made it somewhat whimsical.
Now there's real-time weather and passage of time and the forced moral theme of child soldiers and whatnot (I'm sorry, but the whole conflict diamond thing doesn't seem too fitting for MGS at the moment)

I hope it's all well-executed, I trust Kojima. It all just seems iffy right now.

I dunno about the whimsy, man. Even as ridiculous as the plot can get, there's always this sense of gravitas in everything that's executed within it, including the implementation of the fantastical. I don't think the series is going to stray too far from that. Look at that Code Talker guy, for crying out loud. Dude's look screams "I'MMA MYSTICAL SHAMAN!" And "Those Who Do Not Exist" could be delusions, but when have hallucinations and mental, illusory states not been part of the series?

We'll see about the "forced moral theme." I'm a little iffy on it myself, but I don't think that it's too far detached from the myriad themes about warfare and ideology that the franchise espouses. We'll see how Kojima handles it.

Yea, and I thought the subtitles they put below each character in the E3 trailer were laughably cheesey

I only want Snake to return if he comes back with better hitboxes.

(Yes I always lose to Snake and this is my excuse. I don't care)
