I blame Sonic for this!

I'm use to great games being delayed.

Take the Blizzard company for example, they are known for there delays on Starcraft/Dialbo2/Warcraft 3

Great, to be determined.... Well Sakurai said in his 2007 falll conference post, " There is still a little more developement, but I hope to get it done without incedent.

Either he's saying he has even more to put in, or he's finishing quicker than expected...

I agree with Kirby Superstar, Sakurai WILL make our waiting even more worthwhile OR give us a nice and warm november with Brawl on our TV-screens...at least, you Americans, I have to wait even longer :(...

He already announced the release date. How dare he UN-announce the ****ing release date. I don't even know if that's legal, someone call a lawyer.
WHY WOULD HE PICK A RELEASE DATE AND THEN CHANGE IT.

It's official that Dec. 3 isn't the official date anymore, check the US Dojo site. I don't think I've ever been more pissed. Not because it might be farther away, just the fact that he pulled a stunt like this.

It says "coming soon" at the end of the japanese video too.....so I think that means the date has been moved to jan 24.....:(

I'm going to be Mr. Optimism here and suggest that we (Americans) might be getting Brawl before December 3rd. Let's face it, there are major differences in the American and Japanese markets. Consider these points:

1) The Wii is selling itself in Japan. Brawl is really not the reason for that. In America, I'm sure that many people are struggling to get a Wii specifically for Brawl. I'm no marketing analyst, but I think that the impact of Brawl on Wii sales is greater in America than in Japan.

2) While the Japanese do celebrate Christmas, it's not nearly to the degree that we celebrate it here in the US. Brawl missing a Christmas release in the US would really hurt the sales of the closest thing Nintendo has to a hard-core gaming title. This is a critical time for the Wii. Analysts have been claiming that the Wii is just a fad and that the other systems are going to blow it away, but I think that the anticipation for Brawl has been grossly underestimated. This is the title that will let the Wii stand up to the top games from other systems.

3) Halo 3 and X-Box 360, while popular in the US, are not nearly as popular in Japan. Nintendo had just finally caught up to the X-Box 360's sales (which, given the amount of time it took, is amazing), and this conveniently coincided with the release of Halo 3 to try to steal some of Nintendo's thunder. If Brawl is finished, I think the smartest thing that Nintendo could do would be to release it as soon as possible, to show that while Halo 3 has sold well, nothing can top Nintendo.

What exactly am I suggesting? All of the game production efforts may be focused on North America initially. It is a possibility that we could still see the game on or before December 3rd. There are only a few problems with this theory. First, it sounds as if the development for the game is still not quite complete. Second, an early release would butt up against Mario Galaxy, which I'm sure they don't want to do. Third, January 24th (the Japanese release date) is really VERY far away, and wouldn't need to be that far away to do what I suggest above.

I think it's unlikely that we'll see the game on or before December 3rd, but we can hope.

I have to agree with some of Randofu's points. I haven't bought a Wii game in months. In fact, I think Mario Party 8 is my most recent title, and had to be convinced to buy it. However, I am getting Mario Galaxy, FE10, SC:Legends, and some other games. But it just shows that until these hard-hitting games, the hardcore gamer has been mistreated pretty much since launch.

My roommate said he'd wait the extra month for Brawl, for a better game. But you know what? I'll take it one month ahead of time, because I honestly think that only so much can be done in one month.
Seriously, one month cannot make or break a game. 3 months probably, but I can't see one month being the decisive factor between "amazing" and "redefining perfect".

I also have faith in Sakurai's abilities to get things done quick if need be. Melee was rushed A LOT and it still turned out to be one of the greatest games ever made. Even casual players are still playing Melee and will agree that it is a truly fantastical creation.

I'd rather he not rushed the game, but missing the Christmas market would be detrimental to Smash Bros. sales.

Well if it's delayed it'll be even better.
It shows that Sakurai is not thinking about money, releasing it earlier just to get christmas. We wants the game to be perfect.

Zelda OOT was delayed many times.

PEOPLE, USE YOUR BRAINS!! Think about it, ok, so the trailer said, "coming soon", THAT DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS A DELAY! So, there is a delay in japan, so with the fact THAT THERE IS A UPDATE EVERY WEEKDAY, so do you think that the people working on brawl, with everything going on, has time to alter the trailer to be specific about the launch date, for every region.

So, putting "coming soon" is a general thing for everyone. Besides, with the exception, of the language difference, what update has had any difference at all. the only one was when they anounced the launch dates. And that was big. so, if there was a delay, they would say so, so STOP FREAKIN OUT PEOPLE

You clearly didn't notice they took time out of their busy schedule (which clearly is too busy to slightly edit an editted video) to change the release date information on the Dojo.

Come on. With each new feature and stage added there are bugs that need to be worked out and testing that needs to be done. It's a simple matter of quality control. Yet at the same time they probably want to add as many features as they feel will seriously help the game, and they should be allowed to do that.

Sales and Release Dates are great and all, but if people want the game they will buy it no matter what season it is. Things like that only matter for the first month or so that the game is out, and even then it may not even matter that long.

I'd rather it be delayed a few months and not have any game-ruining bugs *glares at the special stages of Sonic Heroes* than get it now and have a crappy game that can never be patched or fixed once it is released. Let them take the time to get it right, so that we can have a full and complete game instead of an empty unfinished title. It'll save them their reputation and it'll prevent customers from feeling like there money was wasted.

I really don't think that they would have done something informal like that. I mean, the Wii itself was released in America before Japan. I think that if it really is delayed, they will say something big soon.

Japan never had a Release date until now.

Im just saying that the TBD is just a place holder. Its prob. a week delay at most. As long as it comes out, I have no objections. Unlike you guys. Stop over reacting. Please. Pretty please?
