Hey everyone, big news!
It's been 4 years since the first Salem Smashfest tournament, and what better way to celebrate than with a big tournament!

We're going to be hosting 2 back-to-back "Salem Showdown size" events, one on the 21st and the other on the 28th!

Saturday, April 21st:
- Smash 4 (Singles & Doubles)
- Dragonball FighterZ
- Brawl (Singles, potential for Doubles)

Saturday, April 28th:
- Melee (Singles & Doubles)
- Project: M (Singles, potential for Doubles)
- Super Smash Bros 64 (Singles - Only if people can bring setups!)

Also, on the 28th we'll be kicking off the Oregon Project: M Circuit!

=====< F.A.Q. >
Q: Will there still be brackets for Melee/P:M on the 21st, or Sm4sh/DBFZ on the 28th?
A: Nope, only the games listed on the schedule will be there on the scheduled date. We'll be back to our regular schedule next month, though!

Q: Can I show up just to watch, and if so do I have to pay the venue fee?
A: You're free to show up just to watch and play friendlies, and you only have to pay the venue fee if you're entering any of the brackets. We're likely to be pretty packed however, so be aware that you may not be able to get a lot of matches in until the end of the day.

Q: I can't make it, but I'd like to watch from home - do you stream?
A: Hopefully! We'll be attempting to stream, but sometimes the internet at our venue is unreliable. Follow us at Twitch.tv/SalemSmashfests, and if nothing else we'll be uploading all the matches to our Youtube Channel (youtube.com/c/SalemSmashfests) afterwards!

Q: Will Melee be using UCF?
A: Yep, all of the setups we (the SSF team) provide will have the newest 20XX:TE, complete with the relevant UCF codes. We will be providing copies of the memory card data to everyone who brings a setup, and all setups are expected to have UCF during the tournament itself!

Q: Are Cloud (Doubles), Bayonetta, or Meta Knight going to be banned?
A: Nope, there are no character bans in our tournaments (excluding obvious glitches like Master Hand in Melee, or clearly non-competitive characters like WarioMan/Giga Bowser in P:M)

Q: What if I don't have a partner for doubles, but want to enter?
A: You can most likely find a teammate at the venue the day of the event, but post in here so you can try and find someone!

Q: Where can I find the rulesets that will be used in these events?

(Also, if you need transportation post in the group or event page; someone can probably help)

As you can see from the schedule, we are officially adding Tekken 7 to our tournament lineup!

Tekken 7 will be played on PS4 like most of our FGC games, and will be the standard price of $1. We've got quite a few players more than willing to teach anyone who's new or otherwise interested, so feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Also, since Tekken 7 is taking DragonBall FighterZ's timeslot, DBFZ has been pushed back to start at 5pm!

Due to some issues having enough setups in the past, we're making it so that if you bring a setup (that means a console AND a screen), we'll waive your venue fee!

Hey everyone, just wanted to announce a few more things about the Salem Showdown this weekend!

1) If you're planning on attending for our FGC lineup (Tekken, BBTag, DBFZ, or Guilty Gear) I'd recommend heading up to the Rose City Ascension 6 monthly in Portland instead!

2) Because the majority of our FGC players will be up there instead, all FGC brackets here in Salem will be FREE ENTRY (with a small pot bonus - if you want to pay in and increase the amount though, please do)!
If you're interested in trying out any of the games, this weekend would be a great time for that!

3) I've heard some talk about wanting to host a Crew Battle, as well as possibly another First to 7 exhibition - if you're interested in any side events like this, please let me know and we can get something figured out!
