== Event Changes ==
If you've been to SSF in the past few weeks, you've probably noticed that we're trying out something a bit different
Going forward our biggest focus is going to be on making sure people get plenty of matches to play - this means we'll be trying to go for larger Swiss brackets when possible, and we're reworking how Redemption operates (though this is still a work-in-progress at the moment)!
We're also trying to make sure we have casuals setups available at all times (unless we really need every setup to get out on time) - let us know your thoughts when you swing by!

I'm happy to announce that starting next month, we are bringing back the Salem Showdown monthlies!

== What are the Salem Showdowns? ==

The Salem Showdowns are our larger tournaments, hosted once a month! Each game will have $5 brackets and be Double Elimination (as opposed to the Swiss format we tend to do for the weeklies)

== How are the games selected for the Salem Showdowns? ==

Unlike the Salem Smashfests weeklies, the games for the Showdowns are not (directly) selected by the usual monthly voting form - instead, we're picking games that have shown consistent turnout at the events we've ran previously

And just to spice things up a bit...
== The Salem Showdown Bounties! ==

Since we're hosting in Salem, we need to defend our turf, right?
I'm putting up a Salem VS The World Bounty for each game

If a Salem player wins the bracket, then they get to claim the prize - but if not, whoever eliminates the last Salem player from the bracket gets the bounty!

Hey everyone!

November is coming up quick, so it's time for the monthly vote!

== What is this for? ==

We only have time for a few brackets at SSF each day, but we still have (at least) one slot per day open for vote-in games!

To figure out which game, we hold a vote each month and run the winning games (on alternating weeks)!

Since we're now running SSF on Saturdays and SSF Sundays, we have two separate voting sections on the form - one for each day.
Please fill out the questions for whichever day(s) you can attend!

== How does the vote work? ==

We're using a weighted vote system - everyone is able to vote for up to 5 games (per day) they'd like to see at SSF, and every vote gives that game a certain number of points (higher-ranked or "closer to 1st choice" games get more points per vote)

== What else is on the form? ==

We're running Showmatches at the start of SSF now as a way to highlight games that we don't have time to fit into our schedule (...and maybe show people why they should vote for them in the rotation!)
If you have a game you'd like to showcase, please let us know on the form and we'll work with you to get something figured out!
(Also, if you have an opponent in mind already that makes things much easier for us!)

Hey everyone!

December is coming up quick, so it's time for the monthly vote!

== What is this for? ==

We only have time for a few brackets at SSF each day, but we still have (at least) one slot per day open for vote-in games!

To figure out which game, we hold a vote each month and run the winning games (on alternating weeks)!

Since we're now running SSF on Saturdays and SSF Sundays, we have two separate voting sections on the form - one for each day.
Please fill out the questions for whichever day(s) you can attend!

== How does the vote work? ==

We're using a weighted vote system - everyone is able to vote for up to 5 games (per day) they'd like to see at SSF, and every vote gives that game a certain number of points (higher-ranked or "closer to 1st choice" games get more points per vote)

== What else is on the form? ==

We're running Showmatches at the start of SSF now as a way to highlight games that we don't have time to fit into our schedule (...and maybe show people why they should vote for them in the rotation!)
If you have a game you'd like to showcase, please let us know on the form and we'll work with you to get something figured out!
(Also, if you have an opponent in mind already that makes things much easier for us!)

== A Note About Missing Games ==

A few games have been removed this month, with the most notable being Project+
Most of these removals have just been for 'cleanup', however in the case of my personal favorite platform fighter it is because we're being cautious about the new Nintendo Guidelines
To be totally honest, we're not sure what the future of Smash in general looks like at SSF, however we are going to attempt to follow the Nintendo Guidelines and see how that goes - this means that if Melee or Ultimate win the vote, those events may be a bit different (in accordance with those guidelines)
(And yes, I have consulted with outside legal counsel on the matter and that's a decent part of why we're doing this - I don't exactly want to either, if that wasn't clear already )

Hey everyone!

January is coming up quick, so it's time for the monthly vote!

== What is this for? ==

We only have time for a few brackets at SSF each day, but we still have (at least) one slot per day open for vote-in games!

To figure out which game, we hold a vote each month and run the winning games (on alternating weeks)!

Since we're now running SSF on Saturdays and SSF Sundays, we have two separate voting sections on the form - one for each day.
Please fill out the questions for whichever day(s) you can attend!

== How does the vote work? ==

We're using a weighted vote system - everyone is able to vote for up to 5 games (per day) they'd like to see at SSF, and every vote gives that game a certain number of points (higher-ranked or "closer to 1st choice" games get more points per vote)

== What else is on the form? ==

We're running Showmatches at the start of SSF now as a way to highlight games that we don't have time to fit into our schedule (...and maybe show people why they should vote for them in the rotation!)
If you have a game you'd like to showcase, please let us know on the form and we'll work with you to get something figured out!
(Also, if you have an opponent in mind already that makes things much easier for us!)

Finally, if you have any feedback for us in general (or would like to volunteer to help out with SSF!) this would be a great way to let us know!
