Well, it's pretty obvious that the stage show-like design was purposely done, since it's consistent throughout the whole game AND the title screen has a curtain coming up. It's just a question of whether it was done for artistic purposes only.

Just for accuracy, SMB2 was a dream. The line-guided platforms appeared in other games too though.
Though it is a plausible theory, I don't personally think it was "just" a play, because then Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and Super Mario Bros 2 were plays too (although PM:TTYD is staged as a play, one of the characters claims it's a play reenacting one of Mario's adventures), and Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story were just books.
Yeah, but there were curtains in SMB2 too. The ending was a give away it was a dream, but maybe he was dreaming about a show? lolJust for accuracy, SMB2 was a dream.
Virtually all of the good cards are for the japanese e-reader (Boomerang Suit anywhere, ten more levels, etc.) unfortuantely, not to mention they're rare.☆ Anyone know the World 8 Castle maze by heart? Because I keep forgetting everytime I play Super Mario Bros. ._. ☆
☆ I"ll most likely play Super Mario Advance 4 and put a cheat to unlock all the E-Reader stages if they have any in the US, if not then I have to play the japanese one. ☆
World 10 - Curtainland :OYeah, but there were curtains in SMB2 too. The ending was a give away it was a dream, but maybe he was dreaming about a show? lol
