Bracket Pools are such a flawed system. I would never ever run a tournament using this system. (with 2 advances at least)

When 3 people leave pools, half of them get culled R1 in losers anyway. You still only get two losses either way.

Bracket pools are less forgiving, but they are at least consistent in that everyone gets two chances. Round robin pools offer more accurate seeding, but the same loss counts differently depending on how the other people in the pool perform.
