Really, being on the internet should be just about the biggest skin-thickener you can engage in. There's no point in getting genuinely offended or absolutely furious (at least, not initially) since it's often hard to tell when someone's just joking or trolling or not. And in the case of these sorts of OTL threads, just about all the regulars are pretty cool with things, and if there's any hint of irrationality in their statements, you can be almost certain they're joking.
