Hi, I've been just starting to use Olimar after watching my friend 'random' him and get over 100% damage with the Pikmins.

I've read most of the threads here and been practice with him.
I'm having troubles using the pikims to their full potenial.

I'm not fast enough to look at my 4th/5th pikim and devise a strategy and even when I do, it never really works out. ie, I plan to stick some on, roll over grab and then do some aerial attacks, but maybe I miss my throws or miss the grab and my pikmin are out of order..

Any way to plan it?? say with a yellow / yellow / red / blue / purple / white

Thanks.

The 101 of it would be the following:

Reds have awesome knockback on aerials and decent knockback on all their attacks

Yellows have big hitboxes and slightly longer hitstun

Blues have sick backthrows

Purples have less range but do knockback when you throw, their upthrow kills at low percents, upsmash kills at unbelievably low percents

whites are good for latching, grab combos. they do more pummel damage. never attack with whites.

I think the order i listed them is the order they go when you whistle initially. It's highly important you pay attention to at least the current and next pikmin in your line (I pay attention to all 6).

What if you have like 3 blues in a grow? Do you go for grabs?

And how would you start an aerial attack with a red?

Thanks

For the most part, you only want to use your backthrow with blues if your opponent is at a high %. the Fthrow is awesome too. Otherwise, learn Dthrow combos.

A LOT of the information you are seeking is in the various guides we have. there are some recent non-stickied ones you should check out. Id start with just learning dthrow combos and learning how to pivot grab effectively. Just start with that.

How do you perform a pivot grab?

I've been trying and not really working....

Yeah sure is good, does anyone else here find pivot grabbin easier when u push the c-stick backwards aswell. This was how i did it when i first tried it and how ive always been doin it. It seems to help with my timing for some reason...
