Stopping falco's pillaring? (against shield)

I just had a strange idea that can stop falco's pillaring (against shield).

As far as i know no-one has done this yet. But i was messing around with action replay and found that even when you're getting pillared, you can still change from full shield to light. And the moment you light sheild his dair you get sent quite far away, probably too far for even a quick falco to adjust to in time.

Im not sure how effective it is against humans coz i only just found it out.

But if it does thats gotta be a good thing for us non falcos :p

But yeah just thought id drop that to everyone else incase it hasnt been found yet lol. ;)

Peace

Might save you a few times, but a good falco player wouldn't mindlessly pillar you when his above, light shielding is asking to get grabbed.

Lol yeah thats what i mean, when they're pillaring your sheild when its not a light sheild, you can change to light by releasing a lil bit of pressure, thus pushing you away from the already started pillar.

Hmm, that's actually a very viable strategy thanks for the idea. I don't have anyone to test this out on though because I'm the only one who can pillar in my neighborhood.

i believe this actually does work, releasing a little pressure just after the shine. just that little movement and you can jump out of the shield safely

no reason it WOULDNT work that i can figure out

why did you need action replay to figure this out :p

but yeah it sounds brilliant. you can light shield a bit and grab/fsmash the ******** falco pillaring the air.

They're not going to pillar the air, they're going to notice once their dair hits the light shield, then you slide, but they're going to have just as many options as you at that point, but it's way easier that shining out of shield (my current technique)

i didnt need action replay, i just happened to be using it coz im learning pillaring with fox ^^ (0.1 damage ratio means you can do it anywhere on anyone... But does anyone know how to make someone permanantly invicible? or ever lasting sheild etc?)

im pretty sure this does work, you can further expand on this technique if you hold A and switch from R/L to z which instantly changes weather your shield is large or small. IMO you need to be sure hes about to do his dair before switching because sliding back might mean your shield is waveshineable and blocking the shine will end up just getting you pushed into a bad position

heh, I thought of this when I learned about shield toggling, but didn't have a chance to try it.

Glad to see that in theory it works.

Whatever, doesn't matter much. If you still wanted to get shield pressure you'd just SHFFLC the Bair off the front leg since it hits lower than dair on shield and has reduced shield knockback. Plus it's not that common a leading move so I like to get into pillar off of it by dashing forward into the Bair (provided its not expected) and then following into a double shine pillar. Plus if they end up dashing a jump forwards and you pass eachother you can always chance a hit off the back end of the bair and turn around and chase em w/ 2 or 3 lasers or whatever else fits according to their percent and how far they fly.

Yeah, I dont think that this will hurt falco, he is still broken beyond belief... Which is a good thing for me :)

Hmm, if this is out there by the time I am at FCX, what will be ways to counter it :0 I want to be ready for anything, I think that when they slide you could just chase them with lasers...

it will save you a few times but a smart falco will just start following you with a waveshine into a shine combo or something

Falco could always jc grab out of his shine assuming the person doesn't slide really really far, or multishine at a fast rate to dwindle down your light shield as you get stuck in it if the falco multishines fast enough.

Edit : Just remembered this thread was how to STOP pillaring, The best way what m2k often does to me is full shields the dair then the shine then grabs as i jump again and he gets me on falcos way up, you can counter this by mixing up multishine pillars like down airing and doing 2 shines then another dair or 3 shines more than 3 and hes out of shine range and grabs you anyway so don't go overboard. I've also tried to nair to shine against people before and the powershielded it and slid from the PS out of shine range and grabbed me,theres ways around pillaring, or you can get a roll inbetween the dair and the shine if anyone didn't know lol.

If you do the dair when Falco is on his way up, you shouldn't be shield-grabbed, I think.

I really dislike roleplaying melee. If I pillar then do this and if peach does the cheap down a then do this. I guess I just need video footage to clear things up or something more visual.
