This is what happens when you hype up a game for 6 years. You get dissapointed.

The game is still amazing. It is still a masterpiece. Quit your complaining that the roster is to small. Even if you want admit it this is THE truth. Even if there was 50 characters in brawl, every single one of you that are complaining and saying you are not going to buy it would STILL be complaining. Get over it. Play it and have fun.

It's not that the roster is too small, it's the fact that they put in characters like Toon Link, Wolf, and ROB instead of characters that were much more in demand...and also, because there are still clones. Everyone who doesn't like the roster has the right to complain about it, as long as they are actually giving good reasons why they don't like it and not saying juvenile things like, "I WANT TO KILL SAKURAI!!! AAAAAAHHH!!!!

Not only are you one in a series of hundreds of newbies who whine about whiners...

I was extremely sad when I found out Geno wasn't in, but I'm mostly over it now.

R.O.B is not a bad character. He is weird, not Bad. Otherwise the same could be said about Game & Watch. And Wolf? Why is wolf a bad choice? Falco is the clone not Wolf. And Toon link? well... yes.

Wrong.

Pretty much every character that didn't make the cut was not some popularity powerhouse.

None of the speculated characters were any more popular than what was chosen, so get over it. Just as many people wanted ROB as you wanted your obscure villian or sidekick.

This is the kind of statement that comes from someone who doesn't understand game development. Time and money constraints = the game can't magically have everything you want in it.

Lol, Sakurai should just stop making Smash Bros games, since evidently nothing's good enough for you people.

Sure, it was his intention to remove clones as much as possible, but people not succeeding in doing what they set out to do isn't anything new in any respect. In the end, the magnitude of the disappointment is proportional to just how much you let yourself dig deep into your own hype.

I mean honestly, you whine and b*tch about this like it's the end of world; did you forget there was a stage builder?

But you know what, I get it. Being disappointed is just too much to bear.

Sakurai, stop making Smash Bros. games. That way no one can ever be disappointed.

Wolf has a lot of similarities to fox. just changing atributes of speacials doesn't work for every PC
agreed A-moves are highly different, but i hope there is some sort trick to that final smash(alternate-arwing) beacuase the final smash for wolf and falco is kind of off for them. the landmaster thing is getting old already. come on wtf , where's the wolfen.

the character roster is acceptable but ROB shouldn't have all the variety
wow i didn't know you could do so much w/o actual arms and legs, ROB ftw.

1. Sakurai and Nintendo have overhyped their own game, it's not our fault. They go completely overboard on unimportant things and go sloppy on the roster.

2. One character is a clone of a clone of Fox. Nuff' said.

3. They could easily have scrapped Toon Link, Wolf, Robot and made way for Mewtwo, Ridley, K. Rool and Megaman. Those 4 would've made the majority very happy.

4. The only unlockable character that is actually new and fresh is Lucario... the rest is either a clone or a returning veteran, boring! (yes I ignore Robot on purpose, he doesn't deserve a mention here)

Trust me, most people don't need a roster of 40-50 to be happy.... if Step 3 would've been taken, most people would've been fine with it. There's so much complaining right now because we got clones of clones and completely trash characters like Robot.

Miss you Ryan
Fox more or less has two clones.
That by itself gives us the right to complain.
Your oppinion more or less doesnt matter because you clearly demonstrate a childish entitlement. Watch the gameplay vids. The truth is the accusation is false. Bowser and Jigglypuff have the same FS, so they must be clones right?

1.Nintendo didn't overhype this game at all. The provided you with updates every weekday and you call that overhyping?

3. They could not have easily scrapped those characters to make room for your favorite. Apparently what you can't understand is that its not the amount of characters that they had to work against. Its not like Sakurai said.."ok guys we want exactly 35 characters no more" Its all about balancing characters. It is a very tough job to come up with 35 completely unique characters and have them all perfectly balanced. You've got to understand that. I'd say if all these characters are as balanced as the characters in melee were. This game is amazing.

My question to the complainers: Just who the hell are you complaining to, and what do you think it's going to accomplish?

Hey, I was just pointing out a fact. You ARE a newbie ( new here, right? ), and yours is just one of many, many topics that say the SAME thing.
And that line I pointed out was an extreme exaggeration, because it would actually have been pretty simple to make a much larger number of people content with the roster. As evidenced by a thread that asked us to "fix" the roster without increasing the character count, in which many answers overlapped noticeably.

Point is, there was no reason for this topic to exist. You could just as well have picked one of the other "stop complaining" topics and replied there.

maybe there was a development issue? maybe they ran out of space on the disc, and it was easier to put a clone of a clone in instead of a brand new character with a brand new moveset? i'm just brainstorming here, maybe trying to find a legitimate reason they did this, as opposed to arguing or complaining.
