Red, Orange, Orange, Orange, GO.
What do you usually do in a serious match immediately at its commencement, with X character? Eg. if I'm playing kirby, I often Fsmash as soon as I can.

Thought you meant left on the analog stick.

I thought you were thinking of running away -> pew pew.

Who jumps with right c?
Sometimes, I do!
When is just a jump I use right c to let the others rest a little bit, you know, for DJC, Shine Cancel and SHDL.

And for the starting move, most of the times I do an aerial and sometimes Jab.

Depends on who I'm playing. If it's a weaker player, I'll just charge blindly ahead. If it's a competent player, then I'll run to a safe spot to re-evaluate my options. If it's a predictable player (whether weaker or stronger), then I'll try to exploit their predictability.

Oddly enough, there's an very good player that comes to mind whose predictable (and thus, exploitable) in his choice of starting moves.

EDIT: Actually, what I do is very dependent on the stage we're playing on. What I wrote above was with Hyrule Castle in mind. On Dreamland, if I start in the middle, then I'll usually charge ahead regardless. If on the platform, then I'll try to move to a safe spot. On Peach's Castle, I'll usually perform a fast, defensive move, but that depends on how far away I start from my opponent.

Well, if you exploited it properly he wouldn't do it against you anyway AMIRITE?
Nope, then it ceases to be exploitable. He has to catch on first. He probably would quickly, I just haven't played him in many Falcon dittos.

Yeah I do this as a starting move if I know that my opponent always runs away at the beginning of a match.

Once I up-smashed at the beginning of a game vs. Boomfan in Zebes Samus dittos, which he ran into, and zero-deathed him like a boss.

Yeah I'm so cool.

F tilt

Edit: Cool, an infraction for answering the question asked by the thread.

Anyway, depending on what character I'm using, I will either Ftilt or jab or in special cases (DK) a B move.

Just to clarify, when you guys talk about B moves, you're refering to what exactly?
Is it actually a move with the B button, or is it a Back move?

Well, thinking logically, I would use the jump button that's closest to the attack button to pull off attacks faster. It's just plain inefficient to hinder yourself in such a way. I used to play with the right C button, but conditioned myself to move to down C and it's made so much difference. I don't accidentally hit B when I mean to hit A, I can get attacks off faster, etc.

disproving determinism
I used upC when I was a kid because up meant jump to me. Now I use left for B moves, down for A moves, and right->down for DJC. I wouldn't be averse to a control scheme where upC and rightC were full hop and leftC and downC were short hop or something like that though.

It would mess me up for a little bit but I think that it's a better control scheme for new players than having to distinguish between short hops and full hops by button speed.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
Usually I'll short-hop away and see if I can punish whatever the opponent did at the start. Or if I feel like it, I'll just run in and do something completely random and stupid (yeah DK dash attack lol)

I can't think of a reason why anybody would use right-C over down-C, aside from DJC.
I use left-C for everything (including djc) cept picking other colors (left C has a lot of the best colors for my chars)

in fact i find it pretty much impossible to SH with anything BUT left C

100th post :awesome:
