I have to admit I agree with the scores overall. Having played the PS3 demo, it did feel kind of chunky--like it was trying to do too much at once. I expected the Apprentice to feel a bit more fluid, something like Altair from Assassin's Creed. Instead, he felt heavier than I think he should have. I'll forgo the flashy visuals and save myself $10 by picking up the Wii version, which otherwise doesn't seem gimped in the least bit.

And they're not as comparable as the Gamespot or IGN scores, but the official console magazines shaped up like so:

Playstation: Official Mag - 70%
Nintendo Power - 75%
Official XBOX Magazine - 75%

The Wii version lacks the physics which is 90% of why this game was considered awesome.

This has been a bad month for games that I was excited about - SW:TFU, Merc 2, and Spore are all disappointments in some aspect or another.

Haha, so far Krome's versions of the game have been getting slightly higher scores than the Lucasarts developed ones...a somewhat reserved high-five for us!

It is a bit sad though...I haven't played through the game yet, but there was so much potential for a much better game than what was delivered...

Based on videos captured from the Wii version, while it's pretty easy to tell that it's not running the Euphoria engine, the actual physics themselves that it does do seem comparable to Half Life 2. Still looks like it should be good fun to chuck stuff around.

The 360 demo was very disappointing...even if the Wii version turns out to be better, I'm not so keen on this game anymore. Has anyone here played both versions?

So I picked it up for Wii last night, and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed...it's not exactly the best visual game (although most of that can be explained since they would have had to sacrifice visuals to get physics working), but with all of the commotion about it being a disappointment, I was expecting to not like it, but I really do...the only real problem with it is that it's really short - I'm 4 hours in and I think I've already passed the halfway point...

What's your opinion on the duel mode?

Nevermind.

This game is another example of all sizzle and no steak. The graphics, physics, etc. are great, bu that doesn't make up for broken mechanics (the targeting system, or lack thereof, where if you press lock-on, ANYTHING AT RANDOM will be locked on) and the awful death system. If you die, not only will you restart the level but you'll have to watch all the movies you just saw. Awesome idea, guys.

The lock-on system makes boss battles extremely frustrating, and when you die, you have to not only watch the movies for it, but also go back through ALL the enemies. How does this make sense to them? At least let me skip movies.

I bought the Wii version (I'm going to get the X360 demo just to make a somewhat able comparision), and I'm through the first 3 sections so far. All in all, it's the controls that seal it for me. There's just nothing like thrusting your hand forward and having 7 enemies in your path fly in different directions because you're a Force-wielding badass. The controls are surprisingly responsive for a Wii game, and the Nunchuk, which usually gives the most problems, handles very well. That said, the controls are definitely the reason one would get this version. I'm not a graphics *****, so I can forgive a few graphical problems (but srsly, the Wii can do better; devs need to stop hiding behind the whole 'inferior tech' thing as an excuse to not put effort into Wii graphics), but though the physics aren't to the level of the other system's, they do the job, and well.

So far, I'm satisfied. It could have been better, but that applies to everything.

It's pretty good as an extra mode on the side, and people will have fun with it, but it's definitely not the main feature of the game...The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels will be a much better dueling game if that's what you're looking for. /shamelessplug

Also Eric, I'm pretty sure most of the problems you're having with it aren't actually on the Wii version - eg. when you die you start at the last checkpoint (there's nearly one checkpoint for every room) and all of the enemies you've already killed/damaged stay that way. And you can skip cutscenes.

I have the PS3 version. My condition pretty much doesn't let me play with the Wiimote controllers, that and it really doesn't interest me as much.

I just got the Wii version today. The story is pretty good so far, but i feel like the controls are a bit restraining. The Apprentice moves slower than I expected, and the lightsaber slashes just aren't as satisfying as I imagined. But I have yet to unlock the full potential of the game, so maybe my opinion will change.

Almost done. The Star Destroyer Battle was sex in video game format. The controls are still a huge hindering factor as is the targeting. To show, I had a Rodian (or whatever it is) in front of me, I went to force grip him, but instead I grabbed a barrel on the ground below us. Stuff like that happens WAY too much.

During the Junk Titan battle, I kept targeting a wall. Just a blank wall. Two other walls like that actually broke when I force gripped them, not this one. I used ALL my abilities on it and nothing happened. Really made that level hard.

Played this today for the 360. Amazed by the awesome cut scenes, graphics, and the voiceovers, i must say are excellent.
Now the negatives. After maybe 30 minutes i already got to rahm kota, but getting to him was just a series of rooms, filled with militia and storm troopers, over and over.
Thats the farthest i got today, i wanna play again, but its a little repititious.

Decent game, I have the PS3 version. Monotonous battles, the occasional bad camera angle, a bad aiming system and glitches keep it from reaching it's full potential though, real shame.

Has anyone beaten the game? The Death Star has got to be one of the most frustrating, time consuming levels of all.

My main complaint with that level is the amount of enemies that have stunning attacks, there should never be so many storm troopers with missiles that lock onto me, stun me and leave me open to the next missile that comes along RIGHT AFTER I get back up.

Especially when you get to where you are fighting the Emperors body guards, who are resistant to force attack. There are four of them, which wouldn't be so bad if they all didn't throw their homing light saber at me every time I try to jump away to turn my camera to get a good angle, or take a break from the Force Lighting spam (which is the only way to hurt them besides with your light saber, which is near impossible to do)

Not to mention their leader can shock you with force lighting, which slows you down and takes away your ability to jump and use your light saber. Oh, and he occasionaly decides to just pick you up and fling you off the edge where you proceed to fall for about a minute.

And the only way to get back up is from some big blue fan type laser that freezes you in this awkward DBZ flying position which won't let you leave the fan until you've reached the top, which is much higher then you need to go.

And to top it all off while you are fighting the Emperors guards there is a Storm Trooper that shoots a homing missile at you that stuns you, and once you are stunned every one of the emperors guards decides to throw their light saber at you, which stuns you even longer.

I guess you could say I wasn't particularly happy with the way the game turned out. This is the game that made me lower my standards. Oh and did I mention my game froze on the final boss.

Everything before this level is decent. Except for destroying that ****ed star destroyer. But thats another story.

Oh right, and this was on apprentice level. Supposedly the "easy level" of gameplay.

So about how many hours of game play is this, casually. Just cause I want to play it but if its just a game you can beat in a literal 10 hour time frame, I wouldn't buy it.

I only have a wii, so I guess I'm limited that way to just renting it or buying it.

I beat it in a week's rental.

I had no problem with the Emperor at all, btw.

Which parts? I really thought that was one of the better levels. The most frustrating was the Junk Planet. It was so bleak.

Say, Did anyone read the manual? because I found something interesting in there that I didn't learn from the game, but it was useless cause I had beaten it;

The Saber deflect, you know. It blocks everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) except I think large objects flying and missles, And junk titan and junk whatever.... And maybe force push. otherwise.... This would've made the game so much easier

Anyway, on wii, This game, gameplay wise, is easily one of my favorites

The only problem I had with the Death Star level was when you fight the emperors royal guards. There are four of them, and their leader who can use Force Lighting on you and pick you up with the force like Darth Vader. Every single guard would throw their light saber at you if you weren't fighting them, which made it hard to take them out individually.

For me, I over used that force move where you just pushed everyone away in a circle. With that, two of them fell off the balcony to their deaths. Then, lightning the read ones, combos, win, repeat.

I can't even strees enough how much I absolutely HATE the dark side ending (I also dislike th light side ending too). I mean common, does everyone REALLY have to die, and you get rebuilt to do the same thing you were forced to do in the beginnig of the game (oh well, I guess that's what you get for choosing the dark side). The light side is o.k. but I still don't like how you have to die. Mabye they'll make a Force Unleashed 2 where Starkiller gets ejected into space and then gets found and rebuilt or something.:bigthumbu:confused::bigthumbu:confused:

I agree, both endings could have used some work. They provide hardly any closure and leave the player bitterly unsatisfied with the effort they put into the game. Well for me at least. The only good thing to come out of the endings is two new costumes.

But ever since I got the Sith Robe costume I haven't used anything else.

Also, I think I've had enough of this logic defying goes into space, lives, gets found and rebuilt crap.

Anyone else think Starkiller is like a super traitor or something? He's like a triple agent. Works for Vader who plans to overthrow the Emperor, while at the same time he is trying to overthrow Vader.

Yes, the stalker armor is pretty sweet, even though it brings up awful memories of the dark side ending.:(

No no no, not Sith Stalker, Sith Robes. Black hood and cape, with a Silver chest piece and Shoulder Pads. You can find it in the first visit to Raxxmus Prime (however it's spelled) a little after killing the first Junk Titan.

the heavy training costume would be my favorite if the textures looked better on the wii version.
