So, as a budding Marth main, I'm curious as to what other Marth mains have to say about stage striking/banning, and why.

Personally, I strike Dreamland and Battlefield first, because of the awkward spacing of the platforms and overall size. Dreamland especially, because I often find myself being thrown off by the height off the platforms and length and all of that. Battlefield is not nearly as bad for me, because its more condensed than Dreamland, but I still strike it, just because I'd rather not deal with that.

Almost always strike/ban Dreamland. Marth can't poke people through the platforms from underneath nearly as well there. I can't think of any matchups Marth would want to be there.

Generally Marth favors FD because his juggling is very good, and Yoshi's because he can cover a lot of stage with his sword and also it's easy to poke through platforms there.

Battlefield is fine I guess.

FoD I'm personally not that great on, but it's good for a lot of the reasons Yoshi's is.

PS... I personally like it because the neutral stage is really good for Marth (it's got a lot of space that's FD-like, and what platforms are there are low and easy to hit people on). Some people can't stand playing on the transformations though.

Ironically as a Marth main, Dreamland is my favorite stage. However, I ban it in best of 3's , and strike it always.

Striking, I do dreamland, then fod. I ****ing hate fod. so much. I'm always cool with battlefield and other than fod I'm comfortable with every stage. I'm gonna start playing more friendlies on fod though, so that way I get the training on it.

Also, I don't know how to play on FD yet. One day I'll learn, though.

FOD can be a struggle, personally I do fine on the stage, but the moving platforms are annoying.

Is that you don't know what to do on FD or you just can't put the knowledge into your gameplay?

It depends on your play style. Dreamland is a clear disadvantage but it isn't so bad if you're good at edge guarding. You won't be killing anyone off the top though and floaty characters like Jigglypuff is the worst to fight against. Battlefield and Yoshi's and are good if you control positioning and throw your opponent on the platforms and catch their techs with tippers. FD is good if you can't capitalize off of platforms or your opponent is better at doing so. Pokemon stadium platforms are like battlefield's on most transformations but the windmill and fire transformations will be hard to capitalize off of. Fountain of Dreams is always shifting so its somewhere between battlefield and FD. So depending on what you do well on, and what you're opponent wont do so well on, that's how to formulate the counterpick.
