Stage strats for Luigi?

Hey! This is my first thread! I figured "Why not do a thread to further my 'Make Luigi better' reserch" so here it is. Anyone out there have some stage out there you always take your Luigi too? Any advantages the Green Machine has on a stage?

I'll start this by being very VERY cliche in saying Luigi's Mansion is my personal favorite pick. In this defense I say that the posts allow protection from other's projectile spam to help you think a little clearer when fighting a camper. Don't get me wrong the posts can be used for and against Luigi, in reality, what can't? But I also use those posts for some extra lag in a smash attack, think about it. You camp the edge, they make their jump, you start charging, they dodge, you release. Because of those posts your attack is majorly delayed and given the fact that your opponent usually antipates charged smash timing, they usually get a little mixed up and you are granted at least one mistake KO on their part.

Anyone else have a stage they'd like to add? Please.

Ban FD always...

Luigi wants PLatforms or walls...

Luigis Mansion is a beautiful CP...

Not only do we own the **** estate, it protects us from alot. The best is to lure dashers (space animals and anyone with a long physical move) into the middle, where a devastating up-B will be...WILL BE...performed. You must have your mindset for it. (Ask Luigi1 xD"I cant belive TOmmy G beat me...AGAIN!!!"lololol)
You and your opponent will live long, the focus is to kill first, than keep the lead.

Another one is the beautiful Battlefield. MmmMMmmm....

I personally like the lava level..i forgot the name lol. Luigi kills sky high...

Also lylat is nice, since most characters have a hard time recovering there. Luigi, for the most part, doesn't. Ill go in detail later, but platforms = almost free up-B attempts, for u can mindgame opponents into where u might land. Either on or off the platform.

To quote myself.

Holy cow, I just found a new favorite stage. Brinstar is easily the best counterpicking stage I've found for my luigi. It's got everything I need!

First and foremost, ground game is sort of tough to pull off well on this stage. The center of the stage is small, irregular, and sometimes hard to deal with. On top of that, there's the lava. Wanna chill on the ground? 14 damage, kplzthxbai. Plus it throws them into the air, enough for a well placed Uair gimp on the short ceiling.

The short ceiling (relative to the fighting that's done on this stage) is a huge plus. Most of luigi's easy to pull off kill moves are vertical. At least the ones I use most anyway.

Projectile gimping luigi's goofy recovery is v. hard here, since there's a snot barrier between the stage and the ledges. (**** you rob)

The side platforms are a great staging area for Bair abuse when you can get your opponent off the side of the stage. If they try to come from above you've got either the ground next to the snot or the platform on the side from which to stage an attack.

The only thing that seems to be a real negative is that if you hit a falling tornado just right on the center platform goo/glue, you'll bust through it and almost certainly fall to your death. (no rising tornado or ledges to help you.)

I love it, it forces people to fight me in the air, which I own. Win.
To quote boss, who's luigi I love so much it might make him uncomfortable.

this is my counter pick
luigi+brinstar=WTFPWND

I moved myself from 8-10th in my local tourny to 4th, in large part due to familiarizing myself with this stage and counterpicking it. It works, swur.

I admit Polmex, I lol'd.

I agree with banning FD... Battlefield, Yoshi, Lylat, Mansion, and I guess Brinstar? all work really well. I personally like Lylat the best. Go weegee.

I just figured out that you can do the smash-lagging thing with brinstar's snot tether things too. Just like on Luigi's mansion.

As for smashville? Keep you eye on the platform. You don't have to play it all the time, but it's all important to know where it is. It really affects what kind of risk your strategy of the moment has.

If you don't use the platform, it's just FD, which is pretty much the worst case senario.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Norfair yet. Luigi is an aerial master and this is an aerial friendly stage. The low ceiling also makes for low percentage kills, and if your landing some FJPs, your opponent can get into a lot of trouble real quick.

I actually agree with this but the only problem is that I hate big stages :/ The stages are well placed for sweetspoting green missles. You can mindgame with FJP and green missle. Also Luigi can avoid the lava attack by just using a rising tornado too as well.

One thing, never pick the Mario Kart stage, lol. I accidently picked that stage today and got the beat down because of the walk off and weird ceilings lol. Just a little tidbit, shy guys can't drive @_@

I always thought the cave of life worked more against luigi than for him. All the vertical KOs. Plus, it makes it hard to knock people into teh air.

So true. My Luigi is unplayable in his on mansion. Gone are the aerial battles. Gone are the constant vertical kills. Gone are the kills at under 100%.

a great stage to play on is bath
if you shield against the walls after you've been hit you can easily stay on the course, also luigi's attacks send characters up vertically, like his up-b or nair. last since it is a small course horizontally you can use his b-down to come up close to characters. If you do fall through the little hole luigi's b-up and tornado should probably get you back up.
