I notice a mistake im doing in matches so I have a question about stage control with Marth.

Should I be playing off the center of the stage after I ko someone so I dont get kod easily or in general play unless im trying to gimp?

Any help on proper space control will be appreciated. :)

I go blindly aggressive at the start then I balance it out quickly afterwards to see how the player reacts.I try to play balanced.

Balanced is a very general term.

You have to tell me if you tend to play in relations to stringing combos together, techchase, avoid getting hit, punish, or focus on gimps.

I can tell you this, when I think of Marth matchups,

the first thign I think of:

Ken and M2k. Simply because of their playstyles, how much recognition they've had for their playstyles, ledgeguards, etc.

Depending on those variables, it will say for itself whether you need to stay in the middle or casually wait by the side to wait for the enemy to slip up and for you to be able to have them waste a life based on their aggression. The PvP matchup has so many variables it's actually better for you to have the expirience over time so you can determine for yourself if you need to stay off to the side.

I hope it goes well for you.

I'll edit or repost with more information.

How I string combos techchase and punish for me depends on how my opponent is reacting to my aggression. This is new for me because I use to play without to much thinking until I recieved some good advice lately.

Stage control seems so important. I given it a good amount of thought but just wanted to see others opinions on it and maybe get some insight I didnt think of while I work on it.

The mistake I notice is that I try to focus on gimps to much which puts me in a dangrouse position if I fail.

Edit: I got good advice on the hub and I "should" focus on gimping with marth so I just need to learn how to gimp more effectively instead.

I would try to remain at the center of the stage unless you're pushing your opponent off the stage. Obviously, you want to move after you kill your opponent because they're coming back, but staying near the center will make it less easy for your opponent to gimp you.

Or you can simply do what most players do after they claim a stock...wavedash to edge and stall until their invulnerable frames run out. Of course you have to mix up the methods of returning to the stage. ^^
