Alright, this thread is pretty much for tournament matches against specific match ups where we post / discuss about what stage you ban and why. I'll start it out, I don't have too much expeirience so yeah... I'll update the OP whenever I get a chance.

Falco: FD, jungle japes. Obvious one, Marth generally doesnt do too good on either of these, and falco just *****. He can control the match really well with lasers, neither of these have too many platforms which you can abuse, and you cant really abuse your air game.

Snake: Smashville? I dunno, alot of Snakes have a habit of CPing this for some reason. *shrug*

Wolf: Yoshis island. His short blaster range doesnt matter on this, he can scar, and thanks to the slope he can randomly use the wolf flash on the ground, and it auto sweet spots if you get hit by it.

Rob: FD, rainbow cruise. FD is just a really good rob stage in general, its big so it can be a pain to approach him, and he can camp really well. Also, cuz its big you'll probably have a hard time approaching him. Rain bow cruise is also a good rob stage, ban that if its on.

Lucas: Yeah, like you really help against Lucas, but ban Norfair. Seriously, Lucas can abuse the platforms more than you can, all the platforms make tether recovery easy for Lucas, and camping is incredibly easy on a stage that big. And the Death Grab thing doesn't work here.

Diddy Kong: Ban FD because of glide tossing and banana locks.

King Dedede: Ban FD, Delfino Plaza because of chaingrabbing to ledging/wall infinte/ or death off the side.

Metaknight: Ban Rainbow Cruise, Luigi's Mansion, Frigate Orphean it's still a hard matchup.

Pit: Ban FD because of camping.

Uhhh, if you post why you should ban a stage please make it so I can just copy / paste it xD. Less work for me ^_^

Lylat's actually a really good stage for Marth most of the time, because of the low platforms. Marth's reverse up b helps to prevent the gimps, too.

Basically: Ban FD if your opponent has projectiles. Ban gay stages like Rainbow Cruise or Luigi's Mansion for characters with better recoveries.

In all learn how to play on all the nuetral stages, wasting a ban on those is pointless, except FD of course.

Eh, I ban based on comfortability. I'm effective on most stages, and Marth is hyper flexible.

Of course, I do ban based on my opponent's character choices. But, banning neutrals with Marth = fail.

I'll never ban FD because of Pit. I'll be ****ed if I get hit by arrow spam. LEARN TO PERFECT SHIELD.

Also D3's chaingrab doesn't scare me. My best friend plays D3, my Bro plays Pit. Both are highly proficient, and I get plenty of practice.

But yes, I think Diddy Kong would be a very good reason to ban FD.

I ban Lylat against Snake because it's so **** small, you can't see his explosives, and because of this, you die FAST.

Snake players pick Smashville because the moving platform is low enough to the ground that an exploding C4 will hit you whether you're on the platform or not. Now, Lylat is the same thing, except all three platforms are close enough to the groud. AND YOU CANT SEE ****.

Lylat is still one of Marth's best stages though. It's like BF with more platforms.

Check out Hylian's Advanced Marth Movement thread.

Against Snake banning it might be a good choice though.
