SSB64 and Brawl similarities

I'm sure others have noticed that Brawl is a lot like the N64 smash. Aside frome the player entrances is the speed.
Samus's screw attack took long in N64, was sped up in melee, slowed down again in Brawl.
If you dont know what I mean just look at the first smash bors game's speed. Whenever you were struck with a combo the game slowed down naturally, such as Pikachus Fair or Marios Dair. In Melee this changed so the games action was more intense. In Brawl it looks like the creators went back to the old style of slowing down in a combo.
Anyone agree with me?

I like it slowing down. It adds some "POW" to your punch, claw, tail, magic...thing.
SSB64, IMO, is sort of hard to play after playing Melee for 6 (going on 7) years. It seems so primitive, with the 12 or so items, 12 characters, and 12 or so stages.

Yes your right. One thing I miss from Smash64 was the damage sounds(bowling pins being struck?) that were music to my ears along with a satisfying FALCON PUNCH!!

Samus' UP-b, and other multi-hits were slowed down in PAL Melee (IE Zelda's F-Smash.)

I thought I was the only one who bothered to notice.

Nice to see them return, made you wonder if Pikachu was suffering or not, which we all need to know.

Brawl matches will probably just be a mix of Melee and the original smash. Slower moves and more impact on combos, but there will be more and easier combos which is different from either of the smashes I guess. Meh, we have to play the game to be able to really say anything.

I think that the overall feel of the game makes it similar/different compared to other games. Just because the characters are more floaty or the speed is toned down doesn't mean that it's more similar to SSB64 than it is to Melee. It's all about your overall strategy--your gameplan.

How could this game be made similar to SSB64? Combos. Lots and lots of inescapable 0%-to-death combos.

From what I saw, Brawl looks a lot like a fusion of SSB64 and SSBM. I don't really care though, as long as the gameplay's fun.
isnt that all that matters??? i for one dont really care for graphics, gameplay is the number one function of a game, except like halo 3 and COD 4, those games kick *** have have exellent graphics XD

Things I noticed myself:

-Entrances
-The Winning Screen
-The overall look of things
-The Soundeffects sounds like it makes more of an impact
-Old school item Bumper :O

None of those things matter compared to the gameplay.
Anyway, I hope that Brawl is more like Smash 64. I want more combos.

Lemon Drop I agree with the sound effects thing. Melee sounded great with its damage sounds being more realistic. However when I hear Brawls damage sounds I think of commets hitting something. I dont know but they just sound as though they have more impact.
