we can techroll and tech in place O_o ..........?????
and we can tech jump off a wall....

unless youre saying you also want that to be part of the next game...then of course it will..

maybe there should be tech jump off the ground :o or a boost from ceiling tech, ex: you tech the ceiling and hold a direction you will kinda boost off in a diagonal path instead of just dropping

Here are some Large CTF, and 8 player FFA maps that can be used in SSB4

SSBM Underground Maze

Im thinking of making some of the doors in this map where the triforce's would be used as teleporters to teleport to certain other triforce locations you see on the map.



SSBM race to the finish
Same idea with the doors, on this map can be used as teleporters to teleport to certain other doors that you would see when playing the game.


what do you guys think, anything to add? item spawns?

^ I think this is the second time I've seen someone suggest a CTF game mode for SSB4, yet I'm stilled puzzled at how it would work. Will this be a split-screen multiplayer game or something just for online play?

Give us aerial clanking and we won't have "wh0renado" and "Disjointed Hitboxes = Too Good" garbage anymore. But then again, think of how many things would change if you can clank aerials.
I don't know about aerial clanking. You make it sound nice, and it would add a nice layer of depth to gameplay, but I can definitely picture it having some adverse affects. We should work on this idea a bit more.

It would be neat to have tech jump (shield + UP) along with tech roll and and teching in place.
The only type of teching I wouldn't mind seeing is air teching in place of Brawl's hitstun canceling/momentum canceling. You know how you input certain attacks to stall your momentum in Brawl to prevent being KO'd? Well, if we're gonna have more hitstun in SSB4, how about when you're in the middle of hitstun, you could tap the shield button to air tech, making you flash white and bounce forward a bit

You'd basically DI, air tech, recover.

And I'm still baffled on how we can't grab opponents off the floor.
Because that'd be a bad idea. :laugh:

yeah thats cool! but i think ctf in race 2 da finish is too big :o

all characters should have same running speed, same air speed ( except some characters who need it ) no wallj jumping and momentum because everyone would just pick sonic :\

and scope/ray gun/firecracker launcher land mines and invisibility nodes/smoke balls , bumpers should be item spawns and items only spawn in the middle and not in the bases

and for rules, it should be that everyone has infinite lives ( or whatever you want ) and have 100 stamina and that guy dies flag is dropped and can be taken or returned .

maybe there should be other things like ladders/springs/boosters ?


edit: yah its just for online play

For the CTF ruleset, I was thinking infinate lives with a reasonable respawn time and the first to a certain amount of captures wins.

These gametypes im suggesting with large maps and 8 players would work with online and/or lan. Somebody picking sonic definitely shouldn't be a problem, because of how the teleporters will work;plus we don't even know if Sonic is going to be in this game. Wall jumping should be kept in because it adds to the gameplay; wouldn't want to dumb down the gameplay.

My hopes are up for a chance of tripping in the air added into SSB4.

Heh for the CTF thing, imagine if it was a battle ground of 8 v 8 people. You can have different squads responsible for different things.

The flag could be like a Hydra part and would be dropped after a couple hits/certain %.

But the only way that would work is if it was stamina and not % based. I don't know how you would count kills in that kind of setting.

Another game mode I would like to see is VIP match play. If you had like a 2v2/3v3 setting, each team could have 3 stock with 1 VIP character on each side. You would only lose stock if the VIP is killed (non-VIP would spawn endlessly). Kinda like "Pikachu and Pichu" event match in SSBM.

And one thing I don't get is why Sakurai never included "Giant DK" mode in regular VS matches. 3 v 1giant would have been fun.

Currently we can tech in place, tech roll, or fall flat on the floor for some okizeme. I would also like to see if we can, in the future, tech upwards into a jump.

I hope that's clear.

SSB64 somewhat let us grab players off the floor. In Brawl you can grab players during their trip animation.

That would mean that you can do this and break out of a combo somewhat. It's almost like a Melee airdodge, but you're jumping instead. Kinda reminds me of meteor canceling but at any time.

I don't mind waiting for hitstun to end and then recovering from there.

oh i thought you meant you wanted tech in place , tech rolling AND tech jump. i was like, "huh? theres already tech in place + tech roll " ok tech jump is good , itd be like a short hop

Stamina makes sense.

Another thing to worry about would be the difference between characters' speeds. Fox or Sonic would excel in this game while Bowser or Ganon just wouldn't cut it. This is why I think the only characters able to partake in CTF should be the ones you yourself created, i.e. your Mii.

You use your Mii as a template in a smash creator mode. There, you can customize you Mii with specials, accessories, alt. costumes, in-game sounds, etc. You use the money you accumulated to purchase stuff, unlock stuff, and there will be downloadable content.

Anyway, the speed of the Mii wouldn't vary much, so they would be more suitable I would think.

Interesting, to a degree.

Something I would love to see would be a tag-team mode. 4v4 matches, your friends vs my friends and I. We decide the order of who would jump in to fight if one of us decides to switch.

Basically, say you and me were fighting first. You're destroying me, so I decide to tag in one of my friends to handle you. He's beating you up, so you tag in your friend. We could 'tag in' as long as we have stocks.

The damage you sustained prior tagging in would gradually decrease the longer you're out.

Grabbing them when they're flat on the ground would bother me somewhat. Hitting them I'm fine with, but not so much the grabbing.

There will be requirements; I don't want it to be something that you could use at any given moment. Right now I'm thinking about a percentage meter of sorts where with each time you air tech, the percentage energy you have will go down. Without the required amount, you won't be able to air tech.
