SSB New Years Tournament - Sometime Middle January

Had to do something for my 2,500th post. Why not host a ssb64 tournament?

Information
Date: Middle January
Chat Location: Currently Unknown.
Player Limit: Whoever shows up. I would like to know ahead of time so I can get an estimate of how many people would like to show.
Bracket Type: Double Elimination.
Requirements: Live within North America, P2P Client, Project64k, and Hamachi (Unless your ports are forwarded. I will announce the tournament Hamachi room when it is made)

Players may ban one stage at the beginning of there set
Advance Slobs: Loser picks stage, Winner chooses character, Loser chooses character. In that order.
First stage is random: I'll announce the random stage from the legal stage list for that round before I give out who plays who.

Battlefield
*Everything else is banned.

Green: Neutral Stages
Yellow: Counterpick Stages

Anytime, anyday, whatev. Though, it appears to be a one day tournament, so, maybe no Christmas for most people, or Christmas Eve.

Christmas, Christmas eve, 29th, 31st, and 1st are days that can not be hosted on, just to let everyone know...

I was thinking something like the 27th or 28th.

Oh yes, and Battle field doesn't seem like a neutral stage, cause of the edges. But they suck in Melee too though.

With only 2 neutral stages, I feel that there's a need to have at least one more. Battlefield felt the most neutral since it has no stage effects whatsoever.

There's no reason for that. As bad it sounds, there's more unbalanced setups than that which are allowed, such as Link vs falcon/fox on dreamland, Samus vs Fox anywhere, Jiggly vs. Fox anywhere, etc. There's no reason to arbitrarily protect Ness from being counterpicked.

Anyways, I'll join.

Sharp end edges, you cannot use the wall. With crappy recovery chars you have a hard time trying to recover... or yes, lets say you're dead

Zebes is no peach either. I have a match recorded there, was so hilarious. Lava combos FTW. Should really upload, but I'd like to keep the original sound, was on Project64k, and my Computer's soundchip doesn't let me record from my own computer...maybe my bro's?

Battlefield is a stage accessed by a cheat.

Note that I have zero lag when I'm at my parents (who got a good wired internet connection). And I'm at my parents during the holidays. If you got a date and if I know I'm available at that date, can I join? An example: I play with Surri with about 3 frames delay on p2p, and he lives even farther than the states.

He's pretty much on my timezone. [+- 30min diff, but that's a weirdness]. Given Europe is Northern, and so is Canada, you're technically farther from say me [south states], than Surri. But I get 4 frames w/ Surri so...bleh.

Actually i live surprisingly closer then you think, Newfoundland is the most easterly province in Canada so....im pretty sure im closer to you then 98% of the USA

We've ran into a problem though. If we are allowing a player ban a stage at the beginning of a set, what if they were to ban the only 2 neutral stages? I'm feeling that we need at least one more neutral stage and battlefield seems like a bad choice.

What's wrong with Dreamland? It's so much more balanced than Hyrule. Hyrule lets you camp because some spots are better for your char or better when at a certain percentages, at least I don't run into the tower when I have low dmg and my foe has high dmg. So I wait on the other side, and if the opponent doesn't come I spam projectiles, and then they say I'm cheap because I do nothing but spam projectiles, and then they come and I grab Link and throw him off the stage, and then they say throwing Link off the stage is cheap, and then... but if I do go into the tower I am comboed for such a long time that's impossible on flat ground, if my opponent is better than me that is.

Dreamland's only problem is that it is so small it's mostly edgeguarding, but for a fair fight I prefer that over impossible combo's and stalling. A size between DL and Hyrule would be optimal, with only a few floating platforms and no walls.
