I wasn't at the tournament, but I'm with Isai. You should have put finals on the projector in this topic before the tournament started, to let people know. I know I hate playing on large screens like that, so hard to see what's going on and very uncomfortable. Like the very large TV in the game room, when I tried offline BARWL, the screen is huge and it's hard to see anything, even when you stand up.

Not a big deal if the people can choose their TV, but if you're gonna force it...

If it was already mentioned, and mentioned well, then I can accept it.

Could have been a matter of pride. He wanted to play on the TVs, they wouldn't let them, so he refused to play period. Could be anything really.

I still don't like how a projector was forced. A lot of people aren't used to those.

I really disagree Superstar lol. They probably chose to play the finals at the projector because all the people wanted to watch the finals well. And indeed, whats wrong on playing on a projector, who cares if the screen is bigger? as long as there is no lag and the image looks well and the same as on TV... Also, didnt Isai play on the projector that first tournamend and owned smoke2jointz?

wtf at weird johnz

I agree that they should not have forced the projector. but I also understand that other people probably did want to see the finals. I think maybe they should have hooked the projector up to a regular TV somehow, so that the the guys thats playing can use the TV, and the people thats watching can watch the big projector.

they did that on bring your own controller: japan i think

but i don't think for this tournament they had the accessories to make that possible

yea
the tourny hosts wanted to make finals really epic with the projector and all.....but most people left when they got knocked out (noobs!) so the only people watching finals with trigger vs. smoke were like me, isai, ross, and the hosts.

they shoulda just let us keep using the 4 TVs which had no lag at all, i played losers finals against trigger and the projector was pretty distracting :(

triggers a mystic ninja that was ostracized from the konoha village. He now comes back and seeks revenge as a member of akatsuki by hungering for fresh Jinchuuriki

I almost thought of suggesting this, all you would need is a component splitter. It would be very easy...

lol at superstar trying to figure it out when i explained everything in my post already

i wonder what kind of dumb things surri is saying. i can't see his posts

at big melee tourneys the players play on a normal tv and u can have like over 50 people standing behind them watching. not a big deal. like lovage said there was barely anyone there lol

but i dun blame all these tourney n00bs and ssb n00bs; they wouldn't understand. so i'm not upset

It depends, how close were the players to the projector, how high was it positioned, and how large. If you are up close to a large screen, it's hard to get a glimpse of what's happening. If it's high up, it hurts your neck.

I am assuming, due to Isai's "hard to see complaint", that it was positioned large, a little bit higher up, and the players had to sit near it. Which is hella uncomfortable.

And yes I know the host's reason.

Crap, Malva posted before me. Didn't see it. Curse you fastposter!!!!1!

It could have been a pride issue stemming from the uncomfort and that they "wouldn't let you" use a normal TV. But, I"m mostly being devil's advocate, it could litterally be anything. It's still uncomfortable though.

Reminds me when I tried offline Brawl at the gaming room, and the TV was huge, and the display was bleh. It was so painful to play on until you got used to it.

Darn so now we're noobs eh? Well unless you or someone can find un-sponsored ssb64 tournaments in the socal or california area who know how to throw an event point them out to me. Everyone seemed to be fine with the projector, I even asked before AND after they played on the projector. Not to mention it was a pain in the arse to set the thing up. True it's our second time hosting an event, but we're just about getting the hang out things. And Im glad your not upset, it would be very silly if you were to be. All in all, this event was a great success and Im glad those who came had a great time.

As for videos, well I'll see if I have time to do it within the week. Mind you we all work and go to school full time (I with 2 jobs now and school, so my weekdays are pretty full). So everyone will just have to be patient for a little bit.

Also we will plan the June event soon and we'll talk about the TV situation and whether or not the projector will be used at all. Maybe for those who just want to use it for free for alls then that should be fine. Thanks again

Edit: The idea of hooking the projector up to the TV sounds like a good idea. I'll look into it.

I didn't wanna play on the projector cuz it's harder to see what's going on and space/time attacks sitting up close to a big screen like that.

There were 4 perfectly fine TVs I wanted to play on but they wouldn't let me
Considering there were a bunch of non-n00bs there that the projector didnt bother. The screen was about 50 X 32in nothing to that would be too distracting. If the sound was a distracting, the volume could have easily been turned lower. The screen was at eye level, the Players were not positioned to close to the screen and the projector had no input lag and had a good display quality.
-So with only one person really complaining, (being obviously the best player, spiting johnz about nothing... 'sounds like baby' to me too

Although Ismokejoints, superstar, and xx0EleMenT0xx mentioned a great point with the splitting of the video input.. GREAT IDEA GUYS! that would be perfect for the tourney.

as for the videos..
hurry up with the vids already?! wat u waiting for?! TOMORROW?!
/yawn...isai would of had the vids up already...
 Anxious are we?? Your panties must be soaking wet from anticipation.. Man you shoulda came!

There are 2 cameras with about 4 hours worth of video to go through and edit..
We all have other greater priorities to attend to, bills to pay, kids to feed, and your mother is quite a hand full at times.. the only thing that makes it worth it though, is that thing she does with her hips. Its nice lol
So it may take some time, sorry bro

PATIENCE.

I say, no rush for videos, I applaud the work you guys put in to keep SSB64 alive, and the posts/experience here are helping me to better organize the SSB64 tourney I am hosting in February/March.

Thank you :)

and good luck with the hosting. If you want any feedback with problems we encountered setting up or whatever feel free to contact us. Its a lot of work and with very little pay off, we barely broke even after all the expenses. The only reward was the great times and epic battles which is plenty worth it :) as you very well know

**** son, isai still be talkin tha ish...
seems inappropriate to we
kinda like some junky drama queen gettin off on tha attention ***** smack.
probably got lonely or felt underappreciated at said tourney, had ego withdrawls and then threw a tantrum in desperate attempt to seperate himself from crowd.

sure it was some kind of projector lag(? never played on one idk) that caused his dropout, and not the over inflated ego of a man dying for notoriety, too good for any tournament.
