Specific Hitstun values for characters?

Let's get this out of our systems.

Frankly I'm completely against it. For those unaware, characters like Luigi, and Kirby had some massive combo's due to their hitstun. Now I know I could have posted this in the nightly topic, but I want to know this. What exactly about them warrents a nerf?

They aren't even the best characters! Infact, Luigi was already nerfed.
I just don't see a point in turning two top tier characters to be nerfed.

Let them have their day in the sun. Especially Luigi, who hasn't been top before.

Speaking of Hitstun, why do heavyweights have to take Hitstun from everything anyway? That's just....what? It's like:

Me: *throws pebbles rapid fire at Bowser*
Bowser: *flinches against every pebble*
Me: *stops when Bowser is at 250%, which is plenty to kill *any* character*

Okay, so that's extreme, but really, do they have to be easily abused by continuous hitboxes? They're large, they WILL be clean-hit far more easily. And we have Snake's grenades:

Snake: *throws a grenade and it hits Olimar*
Olimar: *doesn't flinch, just moves by and kicks Snake's butt, being away from the grenade in the process so that the explosion doesn't touch him*

HAL, would you make up your freaking minds?!?!?!?

They should have no hitstun against certain moves, period, or at least at low, maybe moderate, percentages. Nothing punishes being big like being caught in a continuous hitbox that racks up the damage and derails any hope of a decent approach.

that's just a weakness of fatties. get over it.
lol g3t ovar it lolz

And for God's sake, big people already get clean hit easily. It is stupid to make them live longer just for them to get continuously stunned so that they're at 200% before they can hope to do anything. That's bull****!

I am not asking for heavies to not flinch against everything. I want them to at least be able to tunnel through cheap and/or annoying moves with the little problem they're supposed to have.

(And really? You assume I main heavies in general? Most of my mains are lightweights, or certainly lighter than Mario. Out of 10 of them, only 3 are heavier than Mario, and one of them--ROB--has the primary reason of performance as a heavyweight.)

Bowser has super amror on his crawl.

dedede has spacing and awesome throws.

snake has nades and stuff.

Dk has bairs

Fatties have ways to get around combos.

And you can just SDI. :/

Or increasethe SDI potency, which is a bit extreme, because you can easily SDI those types of things.

When I am playing as a heavyweight, I expect to live long and automatically not have to contend with ridiculous comboing. None of this Guide Dang It nonsense to make sure of that.

if you're a heavyweight or fattie, you should expect to get comboed more easily than a small floaty character.

It's how physics works. lol

Because if I'm even that big I'm going to flinch against pebbles ad infinitum.

By your logic, a lot of bosses in Pikmin 1 AND 2 aren't the candidates for That One Boss that people make them out to be. Guess what? THEY ARE!

Heavies and fatties have less individual hitstun to help ease the pain of combos. Floaties have more to balance it out.

...So what you're saying is, heavies shouldn't flinch from something like, say, Pika or D3's jab (the multi-hit). Yeah, thats not going to happen.

BACK ON TOPIC

I think modding character specific hitstun is fine. Luigi's one of my secondary characters atm, and I think that he has what it takes to be a contender, even without his ridicously short window of hitstun.

I just don't see why he deserves the hitstun nerf. Again, not only is he NOT the best character, he was recently nerfed too.

There are some characters that deserve a reduced hitstun buff, but it should be ones like Mr. Game & Watch. His main problem is that he is light, but he doesn't have great combos like Squirtle and he isn't floaty like Jigglypuff.

G&W is light, but he can't avoid combos or easily combo back. Characters like Bowser can at least survive for a while and get some hard hits in.

It's because MKDH is complaining about how the game doesn't make Bowser and other fatties broken. Yeah, he wants to go for logic.

Sure, let's do it.

Make it so that Peach doesn't hurt anyone. After all, she has no supernatural strength or anything.

Make it so that Olimar is as tiny as he should be. Meaning very tiny, and make it so his pikmins hit only 0.1 damage.

Make it so that Game&Watch never gets hit, because he's actually a 2D character, which means that he's as flat as a sheet of paper.

And I could name much more.
Oh and, don't forget. Hops and full jumps should be reduced abundantly, they're like... Flying or something. Remove the 2nd Jump, it's not realistic... Remove UpBs, because they're all extremely unrealistic.... they all go against the laws of nature afterall...

MKDH, do you really want me to go on?

Guys we are totally going off topic here.

The question:
Should B+ use character specific hitstuns?

EX: Luigi and Kirby.

Answer: ???

I know I sound curt, but if I don't do something this thing might totally be passed.
Luigi doesn't deserve this nerf.

A good method of dealing with all this would be actually adding character specific hitstun, so everybody gets on a standard and then... Take a look at the nerfed characters, to see if they have been overnerfed. And if it's the case, then we could simply tweak with the characters to balance them again.
