Smash Hero
Howdy, fellow Yoshi pursuers. Something has been bugging me for the longest time. I play Yoshi as a secondary because I absolutely love the flow he has with his jumps.
But, I have been wondering for quite a while the term used to describe a technique I have been using for a long time as Brawl's Yoshi.
You see, Yoshi's down-B sends him straight down, crashing into anything in its path. Of course you already know that. When you use this over flat ground, he will simply land and little stars come out to keep enemies away while he recovers.
This is over flat ground. Over a slanted surface, Yoshi slides a considerable distance down the slope. The effect of this is dependent one two factors: The measure of the slope, and how far from the ground you initiate the Down-B.
When you use this on the very edge of a slanted surface, Yoshi rockets off quickly to the side. I have always took advantage of stages with slants (Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, Pictochat, etc) by using this as an edge guard, but I've found no mention of it on the Internet.
So, I have been wondering: Is this already a technique with a real name or is this news to the community?
