...Plus, sometimes, venting one's anger towards these old enemies can help as well. Some here have personal histories with some of our foes, and it's rarely anything positive...
___
That's actually a logical strategy...
I-I can think of a few people there who might want that power for themselves...

TLink: "...Yeah..."
Tetra: "We've taken more treasures than I can count, defeated some forces of pure evil including a tyrannical warlock king and a ghostly demon, and now we're setting sail to discover new land. I'd say we're doing pretty darn good."
___
Moonjumper: "Oh, on the contrary, we're on opposite sides of an ongoing war in Subcon. This peculiar maze you stand in now isn't real and separate dimension, but it
is based on one. A never-ending maze of hallways, buildings, courtyards, neighborhoods, parking lots and more, all that would seem right at home in an every day world, yet never quite matching it's shapes, leaving it as merely a collection of empty, isolated, unnerving environments. Those lifeforms you saw were endemic to it, but they're under my control, now.
And "ghoul" is such a harsh term. I believe "wraith" would be the proper word by today's standards."
Steven: "I still don't understand. Why do all of this...?"
Moonjumper: "The Horizon is a perfect home for a socialite with an admiration for Subcon's eternal night, but it's such a lonely place as well. I have very few subjects or minions to lead anymore, and, well, let's just saying having an army, as well an army that can take down the Snatcher and claim his territory for my own, would change all of that. And what's a better army than one consisting of several trained warriors and mages who have supposedly already defeated him several times, now? This monster-filled maze here was designed as both a trap and a test, to see if everything I've heard about you all is true, under the guise of a mere Halloween festival event. Your first trip here confirmed what I already suspected about your talents for strategy and combat, but once I learned the Snatcher himself was in the area with an army of deadly robots, I couldn't help but watch his would-be deadly scheme out, just to see if your organization truly lived up to it's fame and notoriety. Needless to say, you've all passed with flying colors."
___
Peridot: "Don't call me that."
i'm surprised Mettaton hasn't asked you for a commission at this point...
-He actually totally has, just off-screen because I didn't think of it until recently- :V
