Besides, Toon Link hasn't been around Chaldea as much as he used to be ever since Bill's death, mostly showing up to help fight off major threats. Tetra only just wound up down there sometime after that.

.....So......M-Most of you know the Underground's history by now. We were trapped in there centuries ago by a magical barrier cast by mages, after losing a war in which the humans mercilessly destroyed us. There's another piece of history that none of you have been told yet......one that all monsters know.
Alphys? What are you......?
"Taking a deeper breath than ever"
A long time ago, a human fell into the ruins. Injured by it's fall, the human called out for help. Asriel, the monster king's son, heard the call. Bringing the human back tot he castle. our benevolent king and queen quickly adopted the human as their own. Over time, Asriel and the human developed a bond, becoming much like siblings. A surprisingly peaceful human now apart of their society, kept alive despite the injuries......The Underground slowly began to see humans in a new light. The Underground and all of it's people, monsters, were filled with hope. The future was finally looking bright.
"Not wanting the stress of all this to fall only upon her, Gaster helped her tell the story"
......Then one day, the human became very ill. Too ill to be cured. Time was running out. Before their final moments,. the human had only one request; to see the flowers from their old village, one last time. But there was nothing we could do.
......The next day.......The human died.
Asriel was overcome with grief. In the heat of the moment, he absorbed the human child's SOUL, giving him the power to transform into a being with incredible power. And that is exactly what he did. With the human SOUL and the power it provided, Asriel had bypassed by the magical barrier, carrying the human's body into the sunset, to the village of the humans.
Deep into the human village, discovering a bed of golden flowers lying at the center of it. There, he set his adopted sibling's body down. laying them to rest. Within moments, screams rang out among h umans who witnessed the sight. They saw Asriel holding the human's body. They......thought the monster had killed the child.
The humans surrounded the prince of monsters and attacked him with everything they had. He was struck blow after blow. Asriel possessed the power to destroy them all. But he allowed himself to be attacked, never once trying to fight back against the other humans. Clutching the human......Asriel simply smiled, and weakly walked away. The wounded prince soon returned to his home, stumbling inside. As soon as Asriel walked into the castle, he collapsed. Turning to dust, it spread across the garden, his own SOUL shattered, his body gone without a trace. The kingdom fell deep into despair. The king and queen had lost both of their two children in a single night.....the humans had once again taken everything from us.
........The king decided it was time for the monster's suffering to end. In a fit of rage, he declared that every human who fell into the Underground shall die.
"That is it..... Humanity will pay for what they have dome to my family! Every human who falls down here must die! With enough of their souls, we can shatter the barrier forever."
That was what he declared in his moment of grief and rage. Yet, never did he himself slay a human who fell down there. He could not bring himself to. But by the time the one who would free us finally arrived, six other humans had died within the Underground. Only one last soul was needed. Everyone was excited and joyful.
.......They were going to be free. And soon enough........they were. But unlike what many had envisioned.....their hatred of humanity was all gone. Another child led us to the surface. But.....that's besides the point. We were freed, but two were left behind, not forgotten..... yet truly not gone, either.
You're probably wondering why we're telling you all this........well........that human child adopted by the king and queen is, as you know, Chara. Now remember that Flowey has called and treated her like his best friend.....when he's never, ever treated anyone else like that. there's a reason for that. It's not just because they now both share a love of murder and destruction.....it's because they knew each other in their past lives.
......Flowey, and the Underground's deceased prince, Asriel.....are one and the same.
