-The Plantars also start to tearfully bid "Possible goodbye" starting with Hop Pop and Sprig, then Polly, and finally, Anne...but none of them can approach her before she tells them there's no goodbye hugs. Sprig is confused, Polly bluntly says "Harsh..." and Hop Pop just casually says Anne is kinda spitting on tradition, until Anne explains that there won't be any disappearances this year: she's warm-blooded, meaning that not only will she not freeze, but that she can be protect the townsfolk, too-

But anyway, all my senses feel heightened. It's like the whole world has slowed down, and I'm totally aware of everything all around me. You ever feel like that, guys?"-

-...Only to hear no response. She asks them again, and then turns around to see that all three of the Plantars are already encased in blocks of ice. Shortly after that, she sees snowflakes falling, and then gets briefly buried under an entire mound of snow that was atop a tree branch. Anne quickly deduces that Hiber Day's arrived early, so she hurries to bring the Plantars and the others back to the town square-
