Hearing that, Anne tries to bring the anger to him by telling him what that thief took from him, telling him that the thief stole his shell, his gift, and even his future with Ivy, the frog of his dreams. This is enough to gradually rile him up to demand answers-

-Anne and Sprig leave afterwards, with Anne tries to act professional by thanking him for his cooperation, grabbing a bag of doughnuts from the store, and leaving a coin, telling him "Keep the change kid"...before the manager tells her that she's actually short on the payment, so Anne apologies before paying in full-
