Just finished Tangled too.

Not as good as Frozen, but really enjoyable nonetheless.

I'm such a sucker for Disney movies.

Toy Story 3 isn't that good, but it's not awful. It's got all this bottled up symbolism about growing up which I found to be a bit annoying.

I'll consider Frozen or Tangled the next time I can get a single woman to watch a movie with me. If the past is any measure of the future that isn't likely to be soon :/

I'm in Okinawa right now, and there are 6 good smash players. I played the 3 best today: J-SNAKE, Habanero, and Masaki. J-SNAKE is the best fox player in Japan; he 4-stocks Ruoka's falcon (the japanese play with 4 stocks). I took a game off him with kirby :). Habanero has a disgusting yoshi, luigi, pika, and falcon. It was also claimed he has a good ness, but i'll get to that point later. I think I beat him only 2 or 3 times (excluding the ness thing)? Masaki is the best english-speaking Japanese smash player I've met. He had a good pika and falcon. He 4 stocked my controller Kirby with his falcon a bunch of times but I beat him with jiggs so wtf J version. I also either beat him or almost beat him with KB kirby so lol. I'd say Masaki is as good as Kero or Stranded, with Habanero better than him and J-SNAKE the best of the 3.

We had a lot of discussion of tier lists, both players and characters in the different versions. They made me a list of the best players, as well as a list of the best players for each character. They asked me for a list like that for the (U) version but I think you guys should make a thread and figure it out in the 60 hours before I play them again.
Funny thing was, I explained Ness was garbage, probably the worst character in (U), and they were like, In (J) version, Ness is in the middle and DK is the worst. I proved them wrong lol. None of them could beat my DK with their Ness's. They were saying Ness is Garbage in Japanese a lot after that lol. I shoulda brought the U version to show them how bad it really is.

All these guys wrecked me, mostly due to me being too aggressive and their superior knowledge of the version. Some matchups I won or was close in, others I got 4-stocked. We played about 5 hours. Also learned that some tournaments ban Hori pads because you can DI better with them. LOL DI in J version.

Will update more and add pictures later. Probably should just make a thread?

Everyone says it's good... like normal people say it's amazing so that gets me hype :)

Do you like little girly movies with sing-a-long songs, love stories, and princesses? Then you'll love Frozen.

@ Karajan Karajan I was watching some J vids and instead of taunting on the side platforms, they started matches by running to opposite ledges and pausining. Any idea why? Also, what do japanese playes think of Bonobono?

Well, if you pause and then unpause, you can ensure nobody gets a head start of any sort, while if you both taunt someone can have some frames head start, not that it matters much but yeah.

Like maybe it's Kirby dittos and they don't want a head start running to the top platform. For example.

Don't know if I've said this already, but that's how they start their online matches which will count for the online ranking, Dan'isen. A third party wili be watching and pause the game, usually the guy commentating. (makes sense to have a third party watching, right?)
You can see the score underneath the players ranging from -2 to +2. If they get +3, they upgrade a level. If -3, they lose a level. They'll keep this score for the next time around. They even have a software for this.

Details of this system are unknown to me. I couldn't detect a pattern that indicated how many matches each player plays, etc. It'd be cool if Karajan could discover the specifics of the rules.

You can search for a player name and ネトスマ段位戦 on nicovideo to find the videos. The description will tell you the date, for what ranking those battles are, who's in it and with what char, and who's commentating.

Thanks mixa thats exactly what I was watching.

This ranking system seems really cool actually. I wish we had 640 players so we could do cool stuff too... or maybe it works the other way around?

They're definitely more equipped to receive new online players than the US is. It's very organized and resourceful.

Lol, looking at those names, I'm pretty sure there's some trolling. Whenever a nickname references another character (usually low tier) the actual character the player uses is a shameless top tier. Examples:

player name : character
Aoi Donki (blue DK) : kirby player
Onett : pika player
Aran : kirby player

I guess you go to tournaments, see your opponent on the whiteboard "Onett" and think "hell yeah gonna beat that Ness"

Since the same player is allowed to be in the rankings with more than one character, I guess the blue Donkey might main something else.

Onett and Aran I cited from memory (from some console tourney), so my fault there. I knew one was pika and the other was kirby.

Well that's a relief. I though i forgot how to read/use google translate.

And out of curiosity, would people actually participate if we tried to get something like this going here? Think of the STATS.

we had the online ladder and that always ends up going to ****

Kinda sucks to do this since the US is big and also internet/routing is **** so you end up having people with like 5-7 frame differences sometimes. Could be better if it was a regional thing but not enough players for that I think (cept for maybe east coast cus they huge). Also lag and people generally being ***** by joining these events and never putting effort in playing games (HURR IMMA JUST SIT ON GALAXY AND WAIT INSTEAD OF ORGANIZING A DAY/ HURR IMMA SAY I CAN MAKE IT TO "xx" TIME WHEN I REALLY CAN'T) or being LAGGOTS. I think having small day one tournys would be a nice start in stimulating an actual online "competitive" scene since people end up just dropping out or get bored of waiting on those events with week long deadlines.

Yeah it's not like no one's ever tried to organize comprehensive online ranking systems before

the problem is with player dedication and a "new and improved" system is not going to fix that

I still haven't seen Tangled or Frozen, but I haven't really seen any of the later Disney Princess movies

Pixar is real good (obvs), Toy Story 3 was as good as 1 for me, but 2 was worse than both.

Wall-E is my all time favorite Pixar movie. I've seen all but Brave but I don't really care to.

All Pixar movies are def something I can go back to though, so strong on the consistency
