was an amazing trip to melbourne getting drunk, ripping up phone books in the hotel, etc

great games against everyone, james did lose a few recordings though including me vs kuromatsu =C

grand finals were fun even if our friendlies probably showed off more skill though lol

i played super aggressively but hand it to pete he got a lot better since we last played and i got lucky a lot

apparently we have a brand new non-64-playing mod

he doesn't appreciate threads about peru

or posts speculating on what developmental disability might cause him to close threads about peru

Being rude to other mods is not acceptable, hence why I appeared.

I did not lock any threads here. If you wish to dispute something that got locked, please make a post in Forum Support. Thank you.

ok, i didnt post in that thread because it was stupid, but nobody is sweeping peru under the rug

for instance, justin wong, claimed by many top umvc3 players to be 'the best' umvc3 player (including the evo champion himself) has nowhere near the impeccable record of isai in 64

regardless of a few losses in a character ditto to a character specialist, there are still many more well-supported arguments for isai as the best in the world than there are for gerson, no matter how good he is (and he is clearly pretty amazing)

tl;dr ciaza is the best in the world because he won the most recent tourney of note

Not only is Gerson a Pika specialist, he is also a Pika dittos on Hyrule specialist and even still Isai out played him at his own game. Gerson is a one trick pony while Isai can play the full cast on any map and still wipe the floor with whoever plays him.

Like Battlecow said in another thread, of course we should care who the best is. Smash 64 is a competitive game and similar to sport, everyone wants to know who the best is and support their favorite players.

Boom vs. Gerson for second best

Observations:

Alts: people, stop kicking people who seem good yet you don't recognize the name. It's really annoying when the so-called "alt" isn't even doing anything but just playing.

Playing with only people you know: This pisses me off the most. You have someone hosting teams, they're in need of a player and you join but someone else joined as well. They don't recognize your name, and you get kicked. However, the other person gets to stay because they know each other despite the fact that you were in slot 4. (AKA playing favorites.) Please make it a habit to play with people you don't know. It's really unfair to those who are newbies. Of course, you obviously won't keep someone who lags and such.

Etiquette: Please, please say ggs when you're done. It's kind of annoying when you're playing someone and in one of the desync resets (closing down Kaillera and opening), the other person does not come back. Did you just 10 stock that n00b in a 5 stock match and you're done? Great. Say ggs. Don't leave the dude hanging. It comes off as condescending.

Where's everyone?:
Why is it that the majority of people who post here are rarely on Kaillera? It's a shame, too. You guys are pretty good.

Admin bots: Get rid of them. Ban them from The Galaxy. I think people can conduct themselves by not excessively talking in caps and it's also quite clear to a rational being when someone is actually being obnoxious with caps. "WHO WANTS TO PLAY SMASH?" will get you silenced. "X PLAYER IS A ****ING ******!!" being said over and over actually constitutes a silence. I'm also a champion of no censorship so you know I will not like the word filter. Admin bots are only good for server announcements, IP/username logging*, and other miscellaneous things.

*This is only for dealing with trolls. Another suggestion that I've mentioned is removing the ability to see IP addresses from Admins and I think Moderators can see IP addresses as well. Only a well trusted Super Admin should be able to see that (and that should be severely restricted to the server owner and people the server owner trusts). This is a privacy issue.

EDIT: Kind of sad the 64 boards have been lacking activity as well... :(

EDIT #2: Where's Peek? I miss that dude. I'm still waiting for the return of PEEKO RADIO. :)

Alts: People do that? I'll play anyone.

Playing with only people you know: read previous comment.

Etiquette: I was raised to always be respectful, I always say ggs. MATTS! always says GG's, Gav, Mint, Ricky, HammerHeart, Froski, Koopa, Komotonoto, Killer, everyone really. Maybe you just play with *****.

Where's everyone?: my excuse is because I always lag at home; I can't really play unless my connection gets fixed.

Admin Bots: Yeah, we have the option to block people, so the spamming part is mostly true.

The EDITS: People started school bro.
I saw Peek like a few days ago I believe.

Honestly saying GG when you totally dominate a person is more condescending than not saying anything at all.

I'm sure people understand when they did badly a game or got their *** kicked. It's just not the same in real life where it's pure etiquette to shake the hand of your opponent or do a GG after a set.
