That said, if you still have copies of B/W or B2/W2, you can use special servers to re-download the Events from that Gen. Tried it out for the first time myself earlier today and was amazed at how easy it was. It's literally a one step solution of adding a twelve digit number to your 3DS wi-fi connection.

You basically go to your 3DS wifi settings, select your primary connection, turn off auto DNS and type in 164.132.044.106 and you're all good to go. Only Gen 4 requires extra steps due to how old they are.
