To be fair, that's Ovid's version of the story, who was infamous for rewriting old myths to villainize Olympian gods.

None of the previous tellings of the story depict Medusa as anything but a monster.

Well, they certainly make for very interesting characters. Medea or Achilleus wouldn't be nearly as deep and complex they are if they were classically heroic.

Drew that dude Ryu from Streets. Not a super serious drawing, I think did it in 15 minutes or so. Either way it wasn't a very long time. Based the colors off of SF3 Ryu, hence the tan skin. It was one of those drawing late night type of days.

Just be sure to do deep research if you're going to add Australian Aboriginal elements. They're very sensitive of their beliefs.

Which is why as cool as I'd love for that to be in God of War, out of respect it'd be best not to have it as much as I'd love to fight bunyips as enemies.

It's a shame that hardly any other mythicism is as well-documented as Greek mythology.

Norse mythology doesn't even have a surviving pre-Christianity source we can use as a reference.

I would argue Egyptian is just as well-documented or at least close to it. I would also say Japanese kind of comes close too.

You guys also probably know my favorite god given my love for crocodiles being Sobek himself.

For me, Bastet is the best. Even Ancient Egyptians knew that you are supposed to worship cats.
