I went on to Discord and people were just complaining so much and I'm like, "we're getting a Dex expansion for free what are y'all mad about?"

I'm the same way, lol. We all expected them to charge us another $60 for a few more missing 'Mons, but they're just straight up givin' 'em away for free.

People are also trying to spread that you have to spend $30 for each new content pack when they're bundled together in one pass. Like, did these people even read or listen to any of the actual information? Such a reactionary time we live in.

Another reminder tgat the DLC is only $30 for one version of the game. If you want DLC for both versions of the base game, then it's $60.

The Isle and Tundra are not seperated, so you get some bang for your buck.

I'm glad that all the legendaries are coming back. I have a shiny Latias with a Lax nature (which is bad) but now I could transfer it to SwSh and change it to Timid!

I'm still a bit on the fence about actually buying the games though, but at least my Latias can be usable if I do!

Not sure what to think of Glarian Slowpoke. The only difference in moveset between it and the standard one is that G-Slowpoke learns Acid at level 6 while Kanto Slowpoke learns Water Gun instead. That's it. G-Slowpoke even still learns Water Pulse, Surf and Rain Dance naturally. And considering it is pure Psychic, it even loses its Water-type STAB.

I hope the evolutions will redeem it, right now it's pretty underwhelming.

Yeah, I was being a bit of a baby before about the DLC but it honestly isnt worth throwing a fit over. I may not like it but hey, its better then a whole nother 60 buck game. Plus, at least the new pokemon are free and i guess its good the DLC is only 29.99

What makes it even worse is that it's obvious pandering to the US, far more countries spell it "armour," but whatever.

It’s $30 for both isle and tundra. But the sword pass and shield pass are separate so you will need to buy both if you have both games.

At the end of the Direct, it says on the screen "$29.99 for each" so that's probably where people got it. But by "each" it means for Sword or Shield, not each DLC pack

I could maybe understand it for Nuzlocke runners like myself, but Switch profiles give us multiple saves now and you can easily trade for version exclusives, so yeah IDK it seems weird to me.

I'm guessing collectors enjoy buying both, since having both versions probably looks nice when on display. And, (in the DS games) it's another save file to use, since you can only make one on each copy of the game.

I used to buy both (+third version) during the GB(C) days. Ruby and Sapphire was the last time I got both "first" version, but even then I stopped going for the updated releases. So GSC was the last time I had the complete set, so to say.

Pokemon MD, FF7, Animal Crossing, Pirate Warriors 4, AND Persona 5 R.

On top of the mountain of a backlog I got right now...Oof. Gonna have to wait on some games, ha ha. I'll wait until FF7 loses Sony exclusitivity to pick that one up, and for P5R I'll probably play that at the end of the year. after I focus on other JRPGS.

Because the idea of an expansion to a game, in total, costing as much as a full priced game is ridiculous to those who haven't bought into that business model. Not gonna complain myself, as my friend got Shield and will be getting the expansions, so I'm not the one paying for it. But I do feel bad for his friend and others like him who are paying $180+ for the full experience.

Although I understand version-exclusives can be annoying as someone with a single Switch, not knowing anyone else IRL who plays the game, and wanting to evolve my Haunter and also get a Galarian Corsola, but I guess I should just ask someone online for help with that instead of being timid all the time :S

It wasn't mentioned in the Direct, but in addition to Gmax Coalossal, Lapras and the apple duo, fan favorite Gmax Alcremie also has increased odds of appearing. Wonder why they left that one out, but now's an easy time to catch it.

Yeah, but from what I understand (and correct me if I'm wrong), there are Pokemon exclusive depending on which version of the game you have. So those who are getting it for both versions would have to pay $60 total. At least that's how I'm interpreting the post by TheMightyP clarifying it.

Another reason I'm not complaining myself is I have yet to play Shield and don't know how the mechanics work, just from what I remember reading about.

The Regis looked like a new Electric Regi and a Dragon Regi; it also seemed as if each Regi had their own temple while the two new ones shared a temple with halved colors.
