So apparently, the extra character stories in DQ11S is a Switch exclusive, and tbh, I couldn't tell. They were woven in so well that I thought they were part of the orignal version, but I guess not.
Oh derp, I thought you said extra character lol

True but to be fair, piranha plant’s have tons of appearances and abilities from across the Mario series. Monokuma is never shown doing much, such is the nature of a VN type game.

Not to say he couldn’t work of course.
Have you ever played a Danganronpa game? There is actually a ton of stuff that could be used in his moveset (Including, but not limited to bazookas, flamethrowers, machine guns, just to name a few)

Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but does anyone want to help me out with this?

So remember when I posted this drawing a while back for my Paper Mario game ideas as the potential main villain?

Decided to redraw her a bit and wanted to share:
View attachment 242333
Mainly just added the Shaman cloak to make the resemblance stronger.
So I’m still working out the details with her but conceptually I want her and the sketchbook/pencil partners Sketch and Scribble here:
View attachment 242334
to represent the sides of a tabletop game master, she represents the malevolent side that creates the monsters and obstacles the player must overcome while the drawing tools represent the benevolent side that assists the player and keeps track of the player’s information, stats, the map, etc. I’m thinking the two were supposed to work together and assist Mario but she got too obsessed with creating monsters and obstacles and the sketchbook and pencil sought Mario out to try and get her under control. She tries to take them back but ends up scattering most of Scribble’s pages and using the ones she managed to claim to create her bosses and such. Mario and Peach have to recollect Scribble’s pages and stop the fallen Shaman. Still have a lot of work to do so if anyone wants to help me out, please feel free to throw out any suggestions.

Good evening, people. How's it going?
Well let’s see. I started the day with bad Pokémon, then followed it up with a pretty intense emotional breakdown, the stewed in that for the rest of the day while walking around campus in the pouring rain. Because I never had the chance to go back DKC my umbrella. Then I got to make crafts with my campus’s Queer Nerd Alliance. Which was fun. But then I got home and had a brief scare thinking my phone wouldn’t charge anymore. Even though a reset fixed it. That’s pretty much where I am. Not a good day.

You say that like it's a bad thing. :warioc:
It’s not good. It is bad.

At the moment, just kinda fleshing out the story and her in general.
You said she was kinda based on DnD stuff, right? Like the Dungeon Master? What if she spoke like that, even when it makes no sense. Like when you encounter her she’d say something like:

“Mario enters the dungeon, his fat, flabby body jiggling with each step. What dangers await him and his stupid mustache? Does he not know who he’s messing with?”

I dunno. Just an idea to give her a little quirk.

Nintendo posted about Digimon on Twitter! Thats good news!

https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/1184637042883317760
Not really all it's saying is that two Digimon games released on the switch that doesn't mean Agumon will be in. Shovel Knight and Undertale is on the Switch yet neither Frisk/Sans or Shovel Knight is playable.

Still that said just cause them having a game on the switch plus a tweet informing people of their existence doesn't mean anything I wouldn't say Agumon is impossible.

Joe, go get some sleep.
Joe has to play defense all the time because he runs the biggest Pokemon fansite on the internet. He's always defending the games on ResetERA from "irrational fans." Don't pay him much mind.

I mean, I get it. There is a limit. Some fans do insane things and take things too far over a video game. But the narrative is often that SWSH critics are irrational or childish or entitled or whatever, like criticizing the second biggest video game franchise of all time is a terrible offense and GameFreak is some upstart that needs all the support they can get. As consumers putting down money for a product, we are allowed to voice our concerns.

Good, managed to get in a couple more chapters in bayonetta without the game crashing or randomly deleting my progress.
What about you?
Tired. Stressed about moving still, especially since the day is closing in.

Annoyed at my hockey team.

And annoyed at a few people on discord as well that have been verbally aggressive with me recently for no reason.

I'm just saying...

There was a recent game that came out on the 20th anniversary of its series that listened to many of the longstanding complaints and requests of hardcore fans, added in many elements and features that they wanted, literally held a poll so they could collect data on what consumers wanted, and released said game without alienating more casual fans, and in a month it became the highest selling game in the series.

Then there's Sword and Shield.

It's almost like you can satisfy your core fanbase that's supported you over the years and still be insanely successful.

Actually, in all seriousness, considering the cluster**** that is the Digimon Franchise as a whole, there are a whole lot of non-anime candidates for a fighter.

Obviously starting with some of the single player games(most of which I've never played)
The OG pet thing(again, never had one of them)
Digimon Masters Online has like 2 unique Digimon they could use?(although that is a whole nother topic considering the mess it's become)
etc

And this is why Nintendo needs to be more involved with it directly. Most of Nintendo’s game development philosophies just don’t apply to Pokémon thanks to the Pokémon Company having EA levels of greed.

That’d be fun to play around with. I also wanna flesh out her motives as I don’t know if they’d be strong enough, as well as her actions and interactions with other characters like Bowser, Kammy, Jr., her sketchbook/pencil, etc.

So for my brother's birthday I'm running a Pokemon table top game! (Using a conversion online that uses DND rules)

What might be some cool encounter ideas or just interesting things you'd like to see explored in the world of Pokemon? I'm mainly brainstorming ideas right now, wanted to bounce off ideas to help my creative process.
Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but does anyone want to help me out with this?
Haha, I like the design and the idea. A "Pen and Paper" Mario would be a fun idea! you could poke a lot of fun at RPG tropes. The idea of a petty tabletop game master sounds like a fun villain. Maybe Mario and all the other main Mario characters gets sucked into this Villains game world and has to find away to escape this power-mad Gamemaster's world. Since she's the one running the world, she could always be watching Mario while he's on his adventure, often giving sassy commentary of the events unfolding. I think she shouldn't be overly malevolent, she wants to have fun running her game world, but is immature and doesn't think of the effects of what she's doing. To her this is all good fun, but gets angry and vengeful when the people trapped in her world try to escape or don't roleplay how she wants them to, so she might drop rocks on the characters or railroad them to get back on track.
