I don't really care one way or another since a lot of Hero's moveset depends on luck.

That being said, I do think Sakurai's team could do better on balancing strengths and weaknesses of DLC characters. Between Smash 4 and Ultimate, I feel like every DLC newcomer has been insanely good (Cloud, Bayo, Joker) or a little subpar (PP, Banjo)
I think Ult's DLC has been pretty balanced so far. Joker might be top tier but he's nowhere near as oppressive or meta-shaping as Cloud and Bayo were, and both Banjo and Hero are pretty good characters and have actually seen results in tournaments. The only outlier is PP, but even then Brood got 2nd with it at a Japanese major so you could argue it isn't even that bad.
oohh noo, honey what you doin
What do you want me to do about it I don't work for Nintendo

Personally, I prefer the more traditional holidays where you go to your grandparents' house for dinner and socialize with your family. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter - y'know, holidays like those.
I dont have grandparents anymore so womp womp. I actually dont like celebrating holidays at all. All the cooking and cleaning annoys me

I guess you’re never too old for costumes.

For some reason I got the idea that people think you look silly if you’re an older teen/18+ and wearing a full costume, but meh whatever, who cares what people think. Some adults around town still do it, anyway I guess I’m technically an adult too after the last two years, but ehhhhh...

Not sure if my family could afford one, though. I wanted to make a Papyrus costume the last year or two but never got around to it or having my family help.

seems like its actually just a ban on all DLC characters, with Hero being the example
From this comment in the post;
From the Official Nintendo French Tournament ruleset (which is a part of the European Team Cup, if I understood everything correctly. If I'm wrong, can someone correct me on this please ?) :

> a) Personnages :
> Les personnages jouables durant de Championnat sont uniquement les 74 débloquages de
> bases, ainsi que trois des personnages disponibles en contenu téléchargeable : Plante
> Piranha, Joker et Banjo-Kazooie. Ainsi, et sans que cette liste soit limitative, le Héros, et tout
> personnage pouvant provenir d’un autre contenu supplémentaire tel qu’un DLC sont
> interdits.

Translated, it gives :

"The playable characters during the Tournament will solely be the 74 unlockables in the base roster, as well as three of the characters available through downloadable content : Piranha Plant, Joker, and Banjo-Kazooie. Therefore, and without this list being limiting, **the Hero, and any character possibly coming from other downloadable content such as DLC are banned.**"

I think it's mainly because of the language barrier. But still, it's kind of insane to see Big N dropping a sneaky ban on a character like that.
It is actually specifically Hero + future DLC that is banned, Joker, Banjo and PP are fair game.
I wasn't really trying to start anything here, just found it kinda funny.

Yeah, it's definitely the language barrier that got Hero banned. Still gonna be people insisting that it's because he's too overpowered regardless

You'd think Sakurai and the team working on the DLC would have considered having some easy way to identify what spell is what for people who travel a lot for competitive play.

I imagine he opted out of that in favor of being more faithful to the home games. Particularly in Japan, DQ menus tend to be very minimalist.

Being faithful to the games is a pretty weak excuse for not considering accessibility.

I don't really agree with it, but I also am not confident Sakurai values the competitive scene that much, yet am certain he values faithfulness at least to some extent. It seems plausible he considered the tradeoff worth it.

Oh damn, we’re almost in October.

Which means we’re gonna see the starter evolutions, which is good. But after that I start my self induced internet exile, to avoid Pokémon spoilers. That means I won’t be around for a good long while.

I’ll need to do something special for my last day, maybe it’s time to give the people what they want.

My birthday’s at the end of this week.

Most kids want a toy or a game, but me?

I want a new microphone.

Have you guys ever considered that no symbols was more of an accidental oversight and not of faithfulness or trying to screw over comp players?
I think they didn't even considered people playing the game in different languages locally. It's such a tournament specific problem that I can see why they didn't think about it.

Well yeah, I don't think Sakurai would intentionally try to screw over competitive players.

He just didn't take into account people who speak different languages playing on the same console (which is mostly a competitive thing but not exclusively).
