Good to know I woke up early for this. Except for New 3DS stuff, MM 3D, and new Fire Emblem, there was nothing really noteworthy at all.

Agreed. No Mewtwo DLC information either, but it wasn't bad I suppose. Wii games on Wii U Menu tho.

Dude, there was one guy who looked a lot like in this, as well as at the beginning (the dancing girl I think).

There are a lot of similar characters in different FE titles.

This game doesn't seem to be related to Awakening at all. Something about the character and background designs gives me the feeling this will be an entirely new world, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Keep in mind creating a direct sequel to Fire Emblem: Awakening would be really difficult to pull off since the story of that game did wrap up.

Also notice they're being conservative with who the Lord is. I have a theory after the criticisms Chrom got with being unoriginal they're going to try something different or not make it a focus as a surprise.

I think the blue haired dancing girl might be a main character.

Seems that the studio doing the CGI cutscenes is the same as Awakening too.

The game does seem to be based on Medieval Japan, as Frost noted, so hopefully no more of the Akaneia saga.

People on Serenes Forest (a Fire Emblem fan site) say that a lot of the new FE characters have Japanese names, further making the theory it maybe based on medieval Japan more plausible.

I'll check the trailer myself and figure out some stuff.

I guess IS is playing it safe since they were on thin ice with Awakening in the first place, they want to reach that market.

Probably because they have a new IP on the way as well, they could get low sales on that and have FE as a backup.

- Kazahana (the brown haired girl with squinty eyes shown about to attack what seems to be a Thief or Assassin)
- Hinoka (red-haired Pegasus Knight attacking a Cavalier foe)
- Ferishia (Felicia) (maid-like girl seen in a conversation)
- Ganzu (Ganz) (looks like a villainous character and is shown laughing)
- Maakuzu (Marcus) (knight guy with elaborate armor, probably the Jeigan archetype of this game)

Toad finally gets his own game
Tingle is finally playable in a Zelda game
Duck Hunt Dog confirmed for Smash
Dixie Kong comes back to DKC
Software to make Mario levels (I have had this dream since the SNES years)
New Pikmin game
Duck Hunt on Virtual Console

For the first 3 thirds, I didn't like the Direct at all.

But news on Monster Hunter 4, Majora's Mask, Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS and Codename S.T.E.A.M. made up for it.
