Link is either a goof or a "badass". I just see him as a over-hyped swordman who never uses his sword and only throw all his infinite equipement at his ennemies. At least in Smash. Otherwise, he's boring.

Mario still got a personality in the RPG games, especially Mario & Luigi. It's where the brothers truly shines in personality.

Seriously, I actually should say that I legitemetly like more the character of Paper Mario than Mario for simple reasons. Basically, by putting the models 2D and really bright and unified colors, it puts more emphasis on the animations and movement. The result is the smile faces affects a bit more and I actually found that it worked a lot better than the 3d models.

In that sense....I found Paper Mario to have a bit more personality. Especially also because there's more voices. There's not just the YAY!!!! voices, but also voices that just sounds funny and ives a bit of baic emotions like refusing and stuff.

Look, I just love Paper Mario ok?

Let's face it. It has Knuckles, who will never happen unless Nintendo buys SEGA, which I HIGHLY expect despite how I see it as undesireable. Half of the entire Sonic fanbase would go berserk.

Simon Belmont getting in over Snake would anger a lot of Metal Gear fans

Banjo and Kazooie will never be playable unless by SHEER DUMB LUCK Nintendo buys Rare back from Microsoft, which I highly doubt will ever happen.

Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be the best choice for a Square Enix franchise to get representation, even if Square Enix does get some, it's gonna be a Final Fantasy character.

And there's just flat out way too many characters not owned by Nintendo.

But yeah, I agree that Paper Mario deserves a shot.

The Mario & Luigi games does this to. But you know, Miyamoto prefer the gameplay over the good story and characters. For him, writing a scenario on a toilet paper is the best way to create a scenario and a character personality. That's why Mario and Link are so bland.

The last time they tried giving Link a personality, it resulted in THOSE games we don't talk about. Then again the game was made by Phillips so i guess i can't be too mad.

To be fair, they did give you the option to rename him, which from now on I'm just gonna name him Robin.

And considering that Majoras Mask 3D comes in two months, I'll get my first chance doing that pretty soon.
