Despite the Kappa, I think Generations was the best out of all 4 to be perfectly honest.

I see. I think Generations is overrated just for the return of Klayssic Sonic, but that's just me. Good game though.

Have you played Sonic Colors? He sure wasn't like that in that game. I think with the new voice for him, they also changed his personality

I know in Lost worlds, he pissed Tails off but Sonic felt like **** in the end. I think he rushed to go save Tails when he was captured

I played colors. He's still cocky and overpowered in this one. At least, he's not running away from his friends. But he only hangs out with Tails now, wich is good. And his voice is meh. It's okay.

But his personality in games like Sonic Heroes or Sonic'06 is horrible. A complete jerk.

I played colors. He's still cocky and overpowered in this one. At least, he's not running away from his friends. But he only hangs out with Tails now, wich is good. And his voice is meh. It's okay.

He was still cocky in Colors? eh I didn't see it, I sure as hell was more caring. He did push Tails into the escape pod to escape and left himself on the exploding space station but to each his own I guess.

But yeah, he was rather **** faced in Heroes and 06, that I can agree on

Oh, of course I played good Sonic mains. And it's horrible to fight him. He literally goes too fast, thus, he can escape everything. Add his UpB that can make him go away from any bad situation (and can edgeguard) and his incredible kill power, and you have there one solid but annoying character.


I grew up with Mario and Sonic and always prefered Mario. Mario is a nice character, he doesn't have a lot of depth in his character, but you can at least enjoy playing as him. I never liked Sonic to begin with. He's the opposite of a good character for me. Overpowered, cocky, idiotic, selfish, incompetent when needed etc... I could go on and on about how much I hate his character. He's not a hero, nor a nice guy, he's an idiot.
When you want to make a silent character having a personality, you don't turn into a cocky idiot like this. You simply don't change him. That's where Mario won.

Yeah, along with Street Fighter and other stuff that I don't remember. The new one looks really good, by the way.

In my honest opinion, Sonic is pretty much a third party character you can never get rid of. You know, you can cut , , and , but not him. I suppose this is some sort of magic.

There's a reason (or maybe reasonS) why Sonic won't die, despite Sega's best efforts. He's one of the only game characters my parents would recognise, and with good reason. His design, personality, uniqueness and quality of the games in his early years all contribute, I think there's a strong argument to say that his design in terms of his appearance, traits and abilities makes him THE most iconic gaming character. And disliking him based on his personality is a very subjective thing, I'd say it's kinda 50/50 as to you liking or disliking it, but I feel in love with Sonic as a result of one of the most snarky Sonic games, Heroes, and I loved how the whole Sonic cast got a lot of time to shine. Sonic deserves better, not to go the way of Mega Man

Sonic's always been cocky, the point of the character was a "Mascot with Attitude" to contrast Mario, which it why it was present as far back as the older cartoons and comics. The only reason we don't really see it in the games is that they didn't focus on the story, otherwise it probably would've been more apparent.

I do agree that particular trait can be annoying in certain games (especially when they emphasize it), but they didn't pull that out of nowhere.
